Just wondering.......... (1 Viewer)

Does this mean the oversized A is back?

No, and right now it couldn't be even if the cups were functioning properly. There is no cavity for them and I don't plan on investing $10k for something that might not work.

It looks like the CPC mad scientists have been hard at it down at the chip labs!

Are you studying to become a chip Jedi, David?

While I was at the factory for a week, there were obviously times when everyone was busy on production so I did a little playing around :)
The slug for that chip had already been made in the past (just pre-Vegas) so I just finished it off.

Good fun but it can be disruptive to the factory so I can't overstay my welcome :)
Surprising how long it takes to do something that is 'not standard' though.

David is just throwing haymakers tonight across all threads!

Keep it coming.

PS waiting for the smooth No mold to be unretired.

I think Clifforis still has the only production dot spot chips made and released. (outside of the samples made and distributed by JimB) I always wanted one. maybe some day .. way in the future

I had a single chip of Jim's in the past. St. Pats I think?
Problem is the spots bleed out of the edge of the chips so they are no use on anything but solids. Also, most of the backs are messed up lol
The dot spots could never have originally been intended for production chips, I think it was some sort of cancellation tool from years gone by where a casino actually returned their chips for destruction and they cancelled them first. The punch itself actually has 'Caesars Palace' engraved on the edge.

Hotstamps and now this? WTF!!!! Dude some of us are at prime heart attack age.

Leopard spots on a set with hot stamped fracs. See what you are doing? :)

C'mon, now you're just making stuff up ;-) Also, I'm pretty sure that chip is supposed to have "LTD 100" on the inlay somewhere (or, if not, "LTD 1" would suffice, I guess).

Mehbe you make a few crazy chips like that each year and auction them/raffle them for charity?

Couldn't really be done. Took about 20 tries to get one chip out. One chip through every stage of production where you would normally be handling 20 or 25 a time could cost $50 to produce in labor alone. By the time you have to setup machinery and then set it back as it was afterwards, plus add overheads, that's over $100 a chip.
Might do something with the small spot ones on a commem next year though.
