When I started trying to put together a mixed, leaded THC set, I realized it was t going to be easy finding racks of those chips. They just don’t go up for sale every day. So, while I was waiting to find the racks I really wanted, I started on plan B.
Now that I’ve got a good start with the racks I’ve wanted, I find myself drawn back to plan B. Since these were mostly eBay type purchases, I can never get back what I put into them. But I guess I just realized that I don’t want to sell them off anyway. I’m just not sure where to go from here. I’m not interested in a collection of barrels - I just need to figure out what to use with these to make them playable.
But anyway, here’s my all leaded, THC plan B:

If you are thinking of a mixed limit set, I like that idea. It is one I have toyed with off and on. But it isn't as though I need a third limit set for ~4 limit games I hosted in a normal year.

As for value. . . . . .that is going to be a really interesting question. The plague is going to kill off a swath of gaming venues. Some of those chips will end up in the hands of the chip room < or so we pray > But others are from states that require the chips to be destroyed. Vegas chips, once easy to harvest, might vanish into the chip afterlife rather than into our hands for a second chance.

Good luck on your quest. I hope it turns into a 2,000 chip set for a monster limit game. -=- DrStrange

Mixed sets are the way to go!
I’ve always been opposed to this kind of mixed set. Having a different casino for each denomination? Sure! Having a bunch of different casinos within each denomination? It just seems sloppy. But I’m not giving up on it just yet.

I have been playing around with my set and it's a blast. Lots of fun and doesn't look bad at all.

Yeah, all THC is fairly easy to put together, the "leaded" requirement makes it tough, you essentially have to assemble them 1 chip at a time from collectors.

I think I could tolerate a mixed mixed set if only like 1 or 2 demons were used and they were very different. Like all white ones with skinny edge spots and all red 5s with different U edge spots. Just trying to keep it consistent enough to be able to tell what's going on.

Otherwise it's like

I get that. Maybe the only “right” way to do it would be to keep the Foxwoods and the Franklins, and find 6 or 8 more barrels of White not spot $1s.
Doable, but less interesting.

I very much appreciate @Irish set. But he’s mixed molds and is mostly unleaded, and has the cool frac thing going on - my vision was different.

What if you removed all traces of the base color from the other denominations? For example, if you have white $1s and red 5s, then ensure that none of the whites have a red edge spot or red inlays. Same with the 5s... Make sure they have dark inlays and no white edge spots. That way, each denom could be mixed quite well but will still stand out against the other denoms.

That would be a great solution for most people. However, I hate hate hate dark inlays, so it wouldn’t quite work for me.
I think the only way to make it comfortably playable is to have all the same frac and fives that are all the same. But then the set doesn’t make a lot of sense.

Oh man, I LOVE dark inlays; you must be me from the mirror universe. OK, OK, maybe dark inlays on the $5s are too strict. Maybe just no white edge spots on the red is enough. I think you could make this work!

I think you could get by with selling off the non-white chips and those without blueish spots, and use the remainder (plus perhaps a few more barrels) in a mixed-$1s cash set for 50c/$1, 1/1, or 1/2 play. 8-10 barrels total should be plenty, and you have six already after you cull a couple that really don't fit.

Take those six blueish-spotted barrels, mix 'em all together, and re-stack the pile. If it doesn't tilt you (it wouldn't me, personally), then I'd say go for it. If it turns your stomach, sell 'em all.
