I can’t believe I need to ask. I thought I could hear the difference. But since I don’t have any unleaded THC’s to compare them to, it’s tough to tell.
Anyway, I just received these, thanks @PGA PRO
Chipguide says these were issued in 1993, but I have a hard time believing that they haven’t done a reissue on live chips in almost 30 years.
Anyway, the inlays are textured, so that puts their date of manufacture before what, 2002?
So chances are they’re leaded, I guess, but:
They sound a bit flat to me
Are these really from “93? Did the 2V pattern exist back then?
They weigh about 9.7-9.8 - not dispositive of anything, but seems on the light side for leaded chips.
Thanks for your thoughts and or knowledge.

Generally chips with textured inlays are leaded in my experience. 9.8g is healthily in the leaded weight class (~9.0-12.5g) from what I've observed, and blues tend to be on the lighter end of the color spectrum.

V spots have been around quite a while, look at Binions WSOP chips for example

I thought you hated 2V.
Oh I do. I'm not exactly sure what I plan to do with these chips, but hate is relative here. It's something I can live with if, if we're talking about leaded Paulsons in great condition.
It's more of a "If I see one more white RHC 2V or 414 $1 chip, I'm gonna puke" kind of hate.

I don’t believe they’re leaded but blue tends to be a heavier color. No one knows if some places have grandfathered textured inlays that are still in production or if the chips are just old stock. (See Bally’s $5s).

Well that would certainly make more sense to me than the idea that they've been using the same $1 chips at this casino for 27 years.
Though, the idea that GPI would "grandfather" something for select clients is also hard for me to believe.
Shrug.

Last year I was able to find some Bally’s $5s that were near mint. A few were even new. So they either have a ton of new $5s in boxes in their vault or Caesars Entertainment is big enough of a client for them to do that.

I've always liked that logo. Question, since I see color variation in your rack...If you sort by color, is there a different weight? Could be different runs or a sign of the age of clay, etc

No noticeable weight difference. Color variance could be an oil thing? I dunno

And now it gets weird. Two sides of the same chip:
