I get out of the poker table building / forum hosting / chip collecting scene for a decade and it goes to hell! A landslide of changes across basically every single part of the gaming, supply, industry, chips, manufacturing, and internet places to call home.

Barry closed up shop. Ten finally ran everyone off with his pool of crazy. Keen's site continued on a steady nosedive after I split and started mine (the OG PC Potato Poker Table Plans) then morphing into BYOC then finally Perfect Mancave. (that of which I sold / got tired of being a forum admin). A few other forums and such have since closed up or moved on to be taken over by the spam bots. Seems like there's only a few that survived, or were created to fill the void. So hattip of respect to whomever is running this place. It's a labor of love.

That being said, I see a few familiar forum name/avatars and vendors. Good to see Apache still around, Chanman, Gene at ABC, HPC, SunFly, Chip Room, etc.

Been probably 10 or so years since I was really active in the poker community on a daily basis on the table, chip, forum, etc. side. Still play cards once in a while, but not a regular at a tanble or local cardroom. I like to think I help another guy make his car payment or two at the usual suspects random home games.

I was sorting out some boxes from the last move and kept shuffling over old sets of poker chips I was holding on to and figured I'd poke around to see what the market is like for them. They've been collecting dust for 10 years. Would rather avoid ebay if I had to, and the search for active poker / chip forums has drastically changed from days long ago. Maybne one day I'll getmy ass in gear, insulate the garage to host games again and pull the tables out of the raters. Michigan winters dictate otherwise without heat in a garage.

Anyways, good to see you all. I'll churn through the n00b conditions on a new forum, and hopefully find a few familar faces and perhaps a new home for a couple sets of chips.

Welcome back, I’m in SE Michigan also. Prices have definitely gone crazy in the past few years.

I’m sure the question will be asked if I don’t ask it…… what’s hiding in the boxes collecting dust?

Who's this old geezer? Nice to see you again, it's been a while. Your forum certainly helped me along the way on my journey, many thanks.

You're probably in for a bit of a shock when you start looking up the prices for the chips you own. This is a fun place to peruse, you'll enjoy your time here.

Lots of gray hair now too!
Hope all is well for you up there. It's crazy when I was looking around here, ebay, etc. for prices and trends on what's cool, whats hot, not, etc.
Still doing custom felt too?

Yeah I'm doing alright, just weathering the storm(s). Our area's been hit hard with flooding, but I'm luckily unaffected.

And yes, still doing custom cloths. https://www.pokerchipforum.com/threads/custom-cloths.3661/
Man, you still do beautiful work. Awesome to see!
I wish I could get a regular game together and play more. Would be worth a custom cloth without question.
Problem is I rarely have 8 guys that will regularly show up. A few guys host tourneys and such around the area, but cash games last time I was digging around were few and far between. The poker landscape of players has also completely changed from the heyday of poker when people had wheelbarrows of money to spend as disposable income. Admittedly, a lot of my life priorities have changed as well, so I'm partly to blame on that front.

Let me take some pics, and churn through the n00b status and send $25 bucks to @Tommy for site support.

Thanks, whenever you get the chance.

@kmccormick100 found a decent sized horde of Camino chips not too long ago. It would be great to see that a playable set had existed 10 or so years ago.

I have some Camino $5s and $20s in my mixed Cali set

@PocketAces has a nice Camino set too with a few relabeled chips to make his set more playable

Yep, exactly. 1000 of those bad boys. Probably same / similar condition.
I had a bunch more, way way back. I traded some table work for the guy who owned the Don Juan [I think it was the DJ] card room in CA when I lived there. He (Ruben) bought the Camino Casino card rooms license or all the chips and equipment or something to that effect and he ended up with all the chips. I still kick myself for not getting 5's and 20's or other denoms when we were standing in the back storage room making the deal on what he was paying 'in chips / for trade' for the tables I build / refurbished for him.

Small world haha, I got all these from Ruben a few years ago. I picked up all of his $5s and $20s and have since dispersed them around the community here haha.

Holy hell! Back from the dead. Welcome back. Remember you from Keen's trainwreck of a site.

Look around, have fun, and whatever you do...don't mess up a dibs sale!

LOL! All kinds of small world!
I'd play poker again if I had all those 5's and 20's!
