Thanks. Is it even possible to buy a bunch of extra 25s and sort enough to match or are they all pretty worn
all pretty worn I have 240 of them and yes all worn I dont know what Jim used to clean these prob a big Casino Machine they def didn't turn out that great but for the price u cannot complain I will just be recleaning them by hand lol still dont have a ultra sonic I guess I like to punish myself

A bunch of us who got chips during the original sale noticed that there was a weird film on the chips. I had to scrub my chips a little get it off of them.
yeah once u scrub the $25s alil bit they turn out nice

Just a guess, but the casino may have done some basic cleaning of the chips as part of a Covid safety protocol. I noticed there was not much finger gunk on the chips I received. I went cheap and didn’t buy the ultra sonic cleaned chips.

were the $25s cleaned as well the same as the $1s and $5s ? its weird some of my $25s look cleaned with like a white tint to them and some are dirty maybe some just didnt get cleaned in the process

I definitely had some 25s that look more faded, or washed out, than others. I suspect that came from the cleaning. I’m going to set up an oiling operation while I watch the Olympics and get them all looking good. I was pretty pleased with the condition of all of mine, but note the 25s were more worn than the others. I did have some mint GOs spread in, so that was a plus.

Yeah I am a dumb a*s the $25s were def not cleaned I don't think cause Jim would have had 2 sales for the $25s some look better then othes for sure they have a weird feel to them but once u scrub them they are good to go crazy how the $25s seem more used then the $5s lol but Blackjack the $25 are in heavy rotation ive never oiled chips RedRider52 how would I go about doing that ? if I am ask I know I need Mineral Oil is there a method to the madness on how to apply it ? cause after a scrubbing the $5s are def alil faded

I actually have not oiled chips before, but in reading several threads here there seem to be 2 methods. The first is the water and oil path where you soak chips in an mineral oil and water mixture for a few seconds and the rinse and dry. I think Gear has a great video on here somewhere that demonstrates that technique. The other is the more traditional compression method, which I need to read up on more, but sounds like it’s more individualized attention - going chip by chip.

As a newbie, I would certainly value insights from some of the veterans out there on this front.

There was another post somewhere on here that showed before and after pics from oiling some Jack Cinn chips I think) and it was pretty impressive how much better the chips looked after the treatment. Sorry for not tagging, but I found it on my wandering on PCF and don’t remember where.

Well I just got out of knee replacement surgery an hour ago. When they release me tomorrow I will clean and oil my chips while resting. The 25s were pretty grungy. And some of my cleaned $1 chips look like they were either missed or from the non-cleaned order. My fives are pristine but they look a little white could be from the cleaning I don't know we'll see after their oiled

Also, I didn't see this mentioned yet, but the darker of the markings on the 25 (bottom-left) is actually a sparkly metallic gold that looks amazing in person. The gray also looks metallic, but less so.

I’ve heard of some people getting ones that are near mint mixed in but it seems to be a lot less common than with 5s. The 5s are mostly used in similar condition to what you’ll find with the 25a though, it’s just that you’ll also likely get a bunch in really good condition (and some near mint) mixed in.
There are definitely new chips mixed in with used $1s and $5s. When they closed for covid, they cleaned all the chips that were in play and also put the reserve $1s and $5s into play with the cleaned chips. We do not sort chips, so they are in there.

I did not clean the chips. They were done by the casino when they shut down for covid

Going to my local watch and jewelry repair shop today to inquire about using their ultrasonic cleaner for some of my chips. Does anyone know how many chips go per cycle and what people charge for that type of service?

Guessing they don’t have a lot of poker chips rolling in for cleaning requests, so wanted to get a feel on what to offer

Just buy your own, you can get one for under $100. I don’t see a jewelry store cleaning your chips.
How many chips do you have to clean?

It depends on the size of the ultrasonic. There's a decent amount of threads on them here if you want to search that will basically answer every question you have.

However, it may be worth it to just buy your own, or if there are not that many chips, clean by hand with soap, warm water, and a magic eraser. That's how I cleaned up the primary $1k chips and they turned out great:
