Cool idea, I'll add a few things when I get home

Ok here are a few items I’ve collected along the poker chip trail.....

This is a napkin that has never been creased or used:

Then this complete matchbook from the Golden Nugget that I thought was too cool for school :)

If you like these, then we’ll see you at the CCA convention in June! ;)

This is cool, I used to run a punch press and recognize the band and pilot holes used in the process. That would be a sample either at the end or beginning of the run to check specs before they run the whole coil.

Ahh, I see now. I always thought it was a run in progress and the foreman goes "Stop the presses, we have enough coins for the casino order now." And these were leftover that was thrown in the excess pile.

Thanks for the expertise.

Not sure if you are trolling me or not lol, but the footage of the coil tells you how many you run, depending on the coil size and the order of pieces needed, sometimes we would just run the extra bc it's not worth stopping. It could of been the end of the coil, there is a laser on the backside of the press when the band goes through it and there is no more material the laser is able to hit the sensor shutting off the press. When that happens it leaves a piece in the press like the OP or like I said before it could easily just be the first piece manually fed through press to check all the specs and tooling. The holes are"pilot" holes that push the band through the press. I took a pic of pilot tooling. After so many hundreds of thousands of "strokes" (out of context thread) the pilot wears down and needs replaced.

Yeah, I bought this a while ago and the seller said it was his father's and couldnt tell me much more about it. Thanks for enlightening us and no trolling here. :p
