Is somebody building a super Binions set or is this shill bidding? (1 Viewer)

In pursuit of these gorgeous Binions WSOP tournament chips, I noticed that the same guy is winning most of the auctions for the T1K's - he's won 10 of the last 12 auctions. He's paying an average of over $40 per chip. If he's paying. At first I assumed somebody was building a dream set. But the more I thought about it, the less it adds up. That's a stupid amount to pay for chips, and why wouldn't he just contact the seller and arrange for a bulk purchase?
So then I took a look at the T100 chips. Same guy has won like half of those recent auctions. I suppose that's consistent with somebody building a crazy super set. It's also consistent with shill bidding. Especially since this guy is willing to go to $58 or $59 apiece for the 1k's - seems like money is no object for him, so why wouldn't he just go up to $30 on the T100's and win them all - if he actually wants them?

I know who’s selling them and a few of us have tried to buy in bulk and he won’t sell. $40 is a little high but not really out of the ordinary for these chips.

I have followed this sellers auctions for some time. I’ve purchased a little bit from him. His auctions are consistently bid upon.

shill bidding is not cost effective as seller pays around 11% fee of sale price.

He has perf3ct feedback almost 2000 transactions. Tons of nice Binion chips. When you have the goods, you don’t have to scam

Yeah, doubtful these are shills. A few years back, I used to think he was shilling, but after following/buying from him a long time, now, i think they are all legit. Not me buying these H&C's though . Maybe they have enough 100's and are going for 1k or starting a Barrel Of Thousands collection?
