Hey PCF! You all are amazing. I just wanted to first say that! I'm so glad the "Name of your game" thread is catching on!

Secondly, I want to let you in on my little journey down this grand ol' rabbit hole of clickity-clackity and clay, dye-subs and ceramics and what-not.

So I am stuck on a couple things here. I'll narrow it down to 3 things.
1. I want a cash game set 500-600 chips (.25/1/5/25) <- I'm super open to suggestion of going a NCV route for the frac (to play .25 or /50) and/or a $20 chip to replace the 25
2. I have a working budget of $1500 - $2500
3. I don't know currently what the process/price of what I'm hoping to achieve makes sense within that budget!

If you guys could help illuminate and show me the way, I'd highly appreciate it!

So a couple other things here.
1. I am totally open to harvesting chips from a Vegas casino, being that I live only a state away and flights are soooo cheap. The frac portion, I would need to be creative, but I really haven't dived too deep into options just yet! I'm sure there are a few out there.
2. When I say harvesting from Vegas, I truly mean a 1:1 dollar to dollar amount for the chips in play. I figure if a custom set of CPC's caliber is around the same price overall, it might be worth it to do. I don't know, maybe I'm being dumb. Haha!
3. When it comes to custom options, how much would a custom set run? Is the budget I have approximately what I'm looking at? If so, great! If not, what do I need to be prepared for? Also, hot stamping and stickers! I am torn between the two. I love the classic hot stamping, but how much more (or less?) does that add to the average chip cost?

Sorry for jumping around and being a little bit scatter brained. I hope this makes sense to some of you, and feel free to cherry pick the post with answers and anecdotes!

Thanks!

Custom CPC will run $2-$3 per chip on average if spots aren't complicated, to $4+ per chip if using very complicated spots and/or shaped inlays.

You could harvest and relabel, but the difficulty is getting the variety of base colours/spots/molds that work and in enough quantity to be usable.

You've got a decent budget.

I personally love mixed sets so maybe another option to consider: Harvest the $1s and $5s, each from a different live casino. The. use the Classifieds to add in $25s and Fracs from two other closed casinos that would work with what was harvested?

There are other options than just harvesting or customs cpc set? Some really cool BCC sets come up for sale. You could also buy a RHC paulson set and re label it? Or buy someone else's customs?

Read and see a lot here and do not rush.

Casino Paulsons command very high prices (especially THCs and IHCs), and even more so the "Not A Group Buy" Paulson chips (usually).
Having that in mind, you could as well light-heartedly harvest $5s at face value in addition to the $1s...
The question is what to do with fracs, and, above all, with higher denominations.
There, you 'll have to ask, wait and pray and be ready to pay probably more (if not way more) than for an equivalent CPC custom chip.

CPCs are the second best casino-grade chips in the world after Paulsons (and still more durable than Paulsons). They are the best in the world currently offered to the public, from a business/factory.
Their color pallette consists of only 38 colors, as opposed to Paulson's 90, but they can be customised almost infinetely to produce stunning results, and you don't have to search, beg, get lucky etc. Only pay and wait.
If waiting isn't your thing, CPC also offers some nice off-the-shelf sets, and don't forget about the CPC-made Key West chips (no wait, and an ubeatable price for this kind of product).

For a 600 chip cash set, I’d recommend the following breakdown:

$.25 x 100
$1 x 200
$5 x 200
$25 x 80
$100 x 20

The hundreds give your bank depth in case you hit a night where the game plays deeper than expected.

Personally, I am a big fan of harvesting and relabeling. Most of my sets include some (murdered) live chips:

I think nine of the above chips are currently live.

There are plenty of good white and blue THC harvesting options (Bally’s, Venetian, NYNY, oyo, silver sevens, etc. for white; Strat, flamingo, circus circus, Paris, Sam’s town, Boulder station, etc. for blues). The Venetian $2 makes a good $25. But fives are tougher. Circus circus and flamingo have nice fives, but you would be paying face value. Probably more economical to find a different chip in the classifieds.

if you go RHC instead, you’ll have more options, as the chip room and the chip exchange have sold a ton of RHC chips that can work as a five and you can find them for way less than $5/chip. I think Boulder station has a new yellow $2 that (if harvestable) would make an awesome California color $5. If you are willing to relabel, you can mix and match your favorite chips from various casinos.

Hope this helps, and good luck!

Awesome. Thanks so much for the input! I'll have to map out the casinos to hit up soon. Looking forward to it!

Ain't that the truth! I certainly like to skim and rush. So I'll definitely take my time on this front! Until then, my slugged chips will do :D

The breakdowns posted above are well-proven; I 'd just make the fracs Non-Denominated, so they can play as either .25 or.50 (or even $2 in a bigger, non-fractional-blinds game, to further boost the bank a little bit).

Get samples! The feel, sound, and colors dont translate really well on a screen.

You can order samples from CPC (everyone should own a sample set of CPC Rounders anyway) and you can post a wanted add for a shuffle stack of THC and RHC etc.

Absolutely beautiful chips. Nicely done!

going non traditional colors is another option if you want THC Paulsons on a budget. I paid about $3/chip on average for this set. I did the milling myself though so that saved me a lot of cost.

Posts awesome pr0n showing his sets with 300 $1's & 400 $5's.

I'm with @wonderpuddle: if you're so close to Vegas, harvesting is going to be your best and most rewarding / enjoyable option.

You can essentially pick up your fracs and dollars for $1 a piece (blue and whites), giving you a bit more wiggle room to spend more on $5s and $20s / $25s that come up on the Classifieds here.

Then you have the exciting prospect of creating and applying custom labels from @Gear, helping you really make them your own.

Some Vegas and relabel pr0n of my own to steer you towards this direction...
