I got lucky at the chip room sale and scored the micro stakes CG set.
IOC pr0n-2.jpg

The goal is to use it for my homegame which (pre covid) used to play 5ct/10ct nano stakes, but I will be growing it to 10ct/20ct and maybe bigger with a few select players that are willing to play higher stakes like 20ct/50ct. Yeah I know, still pretty low compared to the usual homegame in the states but the german population as a whole is pretty nitty concerning their gambling money.

A decision has already been made: the snappers are gonna get relabled to 10ct.
It allows me to use the pink fracs as is and fits my plans of a slow growth.
That and the snappers look freaking awesome in a pot with the fracs. Having them close together in their denom makes sense.

The $1 is pure fire and will stay where it is.

Now comes the stuff I've been mulling over since November.
I wasn't sure how much I was gonna like the IOC $5. I did not like 'em on pictures, but now that I've seen them in person, they've grown on me.
I had however ordered a rack of lady luck $25 to potentially relable to a IOC $5 and replace the originals. I don't really care about the "right" colors for a $25 since over here in european casinos colors are all over the place and none of my players would be put off by a green five, because there is no frame of reference whatsoever.

Fun fact: This is what german chips in our one and only government approved casino chain look like:

I've also gotten 2 barrels of IOC $100 and 1 barrel of HSI secondary $500 as option B to relable as a $20. My game does not play big enough to ever warrant these high denoms.
If it ever comes to it, I'm working on a solids CG set on the side which could be more future proof.

Here's what I got. Not all of it has to end up in the final set.

Option 1
So to include you in my process, this is what the standard, run of the mill lineup would look like, abandoning the IOC $100 to avoid the mixed mold fiasco with the one lonely house mold. 10ct/50ct/$1/$5/$20 (the LL $25 relabled as an IOC $20)
IOC Lables-1.jpg

Option 2
10ct/50ct/$1/$5/$20
Abandoning the LL $25 and sticking with the pure IOC set, just trimming the $100 down to a more fitting $20
IOC Lables-2.jpg

Option 3
10ct/50ct/$1/$5/$20
Replacing the IOC $5 with the LL $25 and relabling as IOC $5 with a faux shaped inlay to "fix" the weird no shape $5 IOC.
IOC Lables-4.jpg

Option 4
10ct/50ct/$1/$5/$20
Just replacing the IOC $100 with the HSI $500 to make my $20, also avoiding mixing in the house mold.

Looking for feedback. Every opinion is valid and I appreciate any thoughts or preferences you might have.

I like option 2 because the hundo has the Isle of Capri house mold which is cool
Yeah I agree. It would be weird, if some chip in the middle had the house mold but on the highest denom, I kinda like it.
There are some purists here who spit on the idea of mixing molds though.
I'd like to hear their perspective also.

Damn those fracs are hot! Love the snappers too! They look super gnarly together!
Agree on option 2, the household on the big daddy chip is rad :cool

Goddamn that's a hot set. I have the IOC cash set and am so bummed I missed out on the micro, I'd love to have the snappers and extra fracs.

Uh, interesting. Never thought about the option of a custom plaque. I'm not convinced, I'd be the right guy to create the artwork for it, though.

Have to think outside of the box sometimes to make a set the best it can be!

I don’t think any of your $20/$25 options work very well whether it’s spot progression, color combo or both. I do like #2 the most, however all the chips leading up to the house mold are super bright and colorful then a dark base/non neon bright chip thrown in makes it feel a bit off IMO. Still, by far the best option as listed

I don't know why so many hate the IOC $5. I say go with option #1 as a backup option #4.

I would rather have th IOC $5 or a green $5 over a mixed mold

I like option 2 best, keeping everything with the IOC casino, and the house mold brings it all together. And if you happen to go that route, i would definitely overlabel the $100!

This thread is making me want to pick up a rack of snappers and relabel them as quarters for my IOC set. That snapper is fire!

Also, I suggested a custom plaque because if you believe in spot progression it will be difficult to find a chip that will work after two brightly colored tri moon chips. As always YMMV

Option 2 all the way.
There seems to be a clear majority for option 2 here. Much obliged!
Option 1, it's not close for me. Then 4. That IOC $100 does not match well with the rest IMHO.
I see your point here since the colors are very vibrant, that black hundo stands out a little. Something to consider.
Green $5 should tilt the crap out of most people
As stated, noone in germany outside of pcf even knows about stuff like $25 = green.
On the other hand, if you want to change the world, start with yourself, right?

The custom plaque as a 20 sounds more and more awesome to me...

Any IOC owners in here interested in organising a group buy, maybe some dealer buttons as well?

I like option 2 but how about seeing what the HSI $500 looks like in that lineup instead of the hundo.

Here we go!

After some deliberation I decided to align the edgespots even though paulson did not bother to do it on the rest.
Going for the 9/3 o'clock.

First lable was a little wonky in it's placement but you get the idea. ;)

Results of one evening of intense aligned label placement.

All finished on evening two.

I have some real pr0n with the good camera planned. I hope I get to do it tonight and I'll keep you posted.

Wow! Suuuuuper gnarly set! Those fracs and snappers are legit top tier RHC’s! Well done mate :)

Beautiful color match! @Gear cranks another outta the yard :cool

I can't thank @Gear enough. The quality and color match of the lables is astounding. I did go for the matte vinyl lables to match the rest of the rhc and they look and feel awesome.

For my full relable flamingo set I went for the textured vinyl and those are my absolute favorites in terms of feel.

In fact, I just ordered some add ons. :)

Looking back to that black friday sale on nov 27th 2020... it's been a long wait to finally complete the set. But boy was it worth it.
The only thing I might consider changing / adding in the future is another rack of $5s to have more of a reason to sport 2 barrels of $20s.

Get em now why they are still $.99

As John Rambo once said... it's never over.

I decided to replace the original IOC $5s. They are an awesome chip and look great in person, but there were two things that bothered me about them:

#1
They don't have a faux shaped inlay even though every other chip in the original lineup does.

#2
When put next to the hot pink fracs in a splashed pot, they seem kinda drab since there is no real contrasting color on them.

IOC-8.jpg

Sometimes you need a more subdued chip in your lineup to make the bangers stand out more. Not the case here I felt.

So the search for a worthy replacement began. It wasn't a long search, because I've been in love with the secondary HSI $5 from the first time I saw them in the Chiproom sales thread but never coughed up $700 for the secondary set even though I was tempted more than a handful of times.
So here was my chance to incorporate this chip into one of my lineups and I think the edgespotprogression makes perfect sense.

So I decided to only get 60 to keep the set at an even 600. It's meant for microstakes and I just don't need that many of the higher denoms.

@Gear provided top notch lables once again and here are the murdered and relabled HSI $5s in their new look in a splashed pot:

Some full set pron is coming, stay tuned.
