Charcoal $20 A.jpeg

A PCF member recently requested to create 200 charcoal $20 Key West chips.

Since Classic will be putting the H-mold into production in the not-too-distant future, I reached out to David to see if we had time to get an order together here for members who'd like to get in on some of these chips.

The history:

We created a small number of these chips in 2013, when Michael Dambauch was running ASM, Portland. The chip is the Key West $20 inlay on a charcoal base H mold chip with red 312 spots. ASM invoices from 2013 indicate that only 180 of these chips were ever produced. If there is interest in creating more of them, we could publish the total in the next run, so the charcoal $20 "2013 Edition" chip would still be limited.

The next run:

is thought to be during the first half of 2021. Nothing specific on the projected date for availability yet.

The window of opportunity:

I'd like to offer this version of the chip here for the next 10 days, until 8 p.m. EST on Dec. 21, 2020. Then an order would go in to Classic for inclusion in the next scheduled run of Key West chips on the H mold.

The offer:

Post here if you are seriously interested in ordering, or would like to actually order. Please specify if you are definitely ordering, just interested, and any specific number of chips.

The price:

$1.79 per chip, plus shipping.

Minimum number of chips?

No minimum if we get requests for at least 20 single chips.

Maximum number of chips?

Negotiable

Payment:

Payment for your order would be due on March 15, 2021. Payment can be by PayPal or credit card.

Anticipated production, shipping and delivery:

This date has not yet been determined, and would depend on Classic's production schedule.

Questions?

Please post any questions below or PM me (dennis63) here.

I'm assuming that mystery member is the one who created a want ad? If so, I won't bother searching the ads for him.
Any "mystery" is not intentional. I generally leave it to members here if they'd like to announce publicly what chips they have. We even have a place to post photos of your Key West set:

https://www.pokerchipforum.com/threads/member-key-west-sets.14370/

I did not think it would be fair/ethical to make more of this chip without openly offering it to everyone, particularly since so few were made. I'm tempted to say we'll limit production to 620 or 1,620, depending on the requests in this thread, so that production of the charcoal $20 will be capped at either 1,000 chips or 2,000 chips.

I don't intend to stock this version of the $20, or to continue to offer it in the regular Key West line, so the number produced in this run will be as close as practically possible to the number requested by PCF members.

Understandable. I've sated my curiosity.

It's very-very beautiful, but can work only as the top value chip; otherwise, its base color is too close to the black of the Hundo.
Off course, one could also claim that, likewise, the DG Saturn's green spots are too close to the Hundo's green spots.

Hmmm. Very tempting. Is this what triggers me to rebuild a Key West set again. I owned a barrel of the originals, sold them, and regretted it.

I feel your pain...
Hope it helps that your set was build up to +1600 and gets most play of all my sets.

@dennis63 i'm in for some (anything between a barrel and a rack)

I think the intent of the $20 chips -- both charcoal and DG Saturn -- is as the high-value chip at a cash table, or for a cash table running alongside a tournament, where a $25 is used in the tournament.

So it follows that neither would likely be on the table the same table with a $100 chip.

Sorry for the off topic, but imo a $ 10 chip is missing.
I wanted to buy a set of KW several times but there is no $ 10 :(
Why ? I need a $ 10 because I'm playing $ 2- $ 2 pot limit.
So I need even numbers and the $ 20 doesn't suit me... Ideally only $ 2, $ 10 and $ 100.

Maybe one day a KW $10 chip ?

The better place for this question would be the open discussion thread. I've moved the question there. Here's the link:

Missed this but I would also love to keep ,my sample set compete!

No, I could probably make due with a couple of barrels but would take a rack if available.
I wish that were possible, but the offer closed a couple of weeks ago, and the order for the actual number we needed went to David at Classic.
