Hey PCF,

- My kitchen nightmare seems to have an end in sight.

- Winter will be over in a few months.

- I have chips that need felting.

I live in a weird middle of nowhere town called Fort Lupton, CO. It’s between 45-60 minutes away from most Denver suburbs, and there really isn’t much to do once you get here.

Late last year, my kitchen flooded. Twice. My girlfriend and I have been stuck in remodeling purgatory for 5 months now, but we can see a near future where our kitchen will be functional and glorious.

I am a high school teacher by trade, and am looking forward to the end of the school year. Summer time in the back yard is magical, and while I don’t have a hot dog roller, I do have a bbq grill.

By the time summer rolls around, I’ll have a 600 chip custom cash set, 500 chip Super Poker World tourney set, and possibly a 1000 chip custom tourney set, none of which will have seen action. This is an injustice that must be resolved.

So I pose this question to my Colorado PCFers: if I put together either a cash game (.25/.50 or 1/3 max) or a MTT for this summer, will there be any interest? I figure the biggest challenge is distance. The Fort is a trek no matter where in the state you live, so I can understand not wanting to drive to and from, but I’d love to see your awesome faces and splash some pots with you on a lazy summer afternoon.

I’m thinking mid to late June for a meet up. Who’s up for it?

Anyone else I don't know yet, but would be interested?

Will be honest. The idea of driving home from a late evening in Ft. Lupton probably isn't my thing. That said, a weekend afternoon game with a BBQ vibe on "lazy afternoon" (perhaps sitting in CO sunshine even) most definitely has appeal. Might me able to convince a degen or two to join me.

What size/type game ya thinking?

I think an afternoon game would be best, maybe in a Saturday or Sunday. If we get enough interest, I’d like to go with a tournament. $60ish buy-in, maybe with bounties. Cash will either be .25/.50 or 1/3. I don’t think my bankroll can go much higher than that.

Probably interested if you wanna make it like a meetup. We play for a weekend. Perhaps rent a house or a cheap hotel rooms close by to use. If that sounds good to you.

I love the idea of a multi-day meetup, but maybe not for the first one I host. If this becomes a regular or annual event, I'd love to see it grow naturally into a weekend-long tournament / cash series. I like the idea of a weekend afternoon to start. I guess my next step is to look at dates and see if I can't nail down something more tangible!

I’d be interested. And, I might be able to recruit 1-3 more if any seats might need filling.

You are the literal best. I'm thinking that some teacher friends of mine might like to get in on this as well. If we play our cards right (pun intended), we could get two tables, easy.

This would probably work better for me. I’m definitely interested. Just depends on the weekend. We already have some summer travel plans. Otherwise, just depends on my wife’s schedule (she works lots of weekends), and arranging child care.
