New member here! I'm putting the finishing touches on a CPC custom set I plan to order soon, but would like to find a decent set of ceramics to play a micro-stakes home game while I wait. I've ordered some samples from BR Pro but would like recommendations on anything else I should look at. Even Amazon seems to have some decent looking sets from Slowplay, Versa, and others - anyone have any experience with them? Just wondering what you guys think about a decent, playable set of chips to tide me over until my CPCs arrive. Appreciate the help!

Welcome! Brpro is about as good as it gets when it comes to inexpensive (a relative term obviously) chips. There are also china clays such as these ones that might be worth getting samples of. Expect to lose money if/when you’re reselling both of them though.

I'm still trying to decide on my first real set and got a few samples of tiki kings and Nevada Jack's. Really like both, especially the tikis. For whatever that's worth anyway.

If Tiki's are what you are interested in, I have a cash set (you can add 25s and 100s from BRPro) for sale that are pretty much new for less than retail.

Nice! I think for right now where I'm at with the group I'm trying to get a game going with, a bit more than I'm looking to invest. Maybe if we get a consistent group going, but I'm not sure how long I'll be able to keep everyone sticking with it. Appreciate it though!

I think Monacos are underpriced. When I first used them at my buddy's house, I was impressed. And they are something like 18 cents each. You can find them here. These work very well until you upgrade to casino quality. The website calls them casino clay but they are more like a China clay. They are some composite that stacks and plays much better than their cost.

Good luck.

I would try to find a cards mold set in classifieds... They pop up every now and then and normally someone will be happy to take them off your hands when you don't need them anymore (as long as they're not super custom)

Still working on the inlay design, but I hope to have them finished up soon! Once I do, I will definitely share.

I just ordered a sample set of the Tiki Kings and was wondering how durable they are. Anybody had them in use for a few years? Do they chip or break easily? Does the color rub off?

if it helps, I just got samples of the Slowplay ceramics. They are nice but in my opinion they are not worth a purchase. I can post pics or more details if you are interested. They look nice on the website but imho lack some personality in real life.
