I'm in Detroit until Tuesday for business. Looking at Bravo I'm gonna be nearby Motor City, Greektown, MGM and Caesar's. Anyone know which ones have the softest games? Cash and tourney?

You need a passport to get to Caesar's... Its in Windsor. I'd go with Motor City for cash or tournament, but that's because they're always the busiest, and not because they're soft.

MGM just redid their room, but last time I was there, it seems the player pool was the same... One table going.

Motor City has the most active room, but that doesn't mean softest. And its close to the gaming floor by all the slots.

If you're not 60-65 years old and prefer to smell like an ashtray, I wouldn't consider Greektown. Restaurants near Greektown are much better, however.

I haven't been in any of them in years. The home game circuit in southern Michigan is way too much fun (and active)

I was at MGM a couple weeks ago on a Thursday night. Plenty of games running, but there was very little money on the table at the 1/3 games. I scouted other tables after I sat and half the table had <$100 and only one person had over $300, but they were all the same. Higher limits seemed to have much better action.

The 1/3 PLO had a ton of regs but there was plenty of action. The few dealers I chatted with seemed to agree the PLO was generally soft.

I have heard the Bourbon Basement outside of Detroit has some pretty soft games. :)

How far outside of Detroit? :D

Well Greektown Casino was somewhat of a bust. Convulated layout just to get to the poker room, it was literally unattached from the casino. You have to go in, go to the third floor, walk a long hallway, take the elevator at the end of the hallway down to the second floor. Two tables running, TOPS. The players were friendly, that's the only reason I stayed. Bought in for $200, cashed out for $568.

Gonna try Motor City tomorrow.

The poker room isn’t located on the main casino floor? Wtf! Whose the genius that designed this layout!

Anyway, worth it as you walked out a winner!

Haven't played in the Detroit casino's in about 4 years ever since I've moved away but I agree with the above posts....

Greektown - has gone downhill since they've relocated the poker room off the main floor over a decade ago. Games were generally tight.
MGM - only played a couple times but I didn't like it since it was literally next to a club and was loud as hell. Not sure if this is the case today.
Motorcity - has a good mix and generally lots of action. This was my go-to place.
Hollywood Casino Toledo - about 45min drive south on 75... this would be my 2nd choice in the area.

Have fun
