I stayed at the Nugget about ten years ago, so correct me if things have changed, but it's downtown, its kind of a dump, and nobody really wants to go there.
I don't support this move to icon garbage at all, but I guess I'm not shocked that a cheap place would have cheap chips?

Serious question, are Icon chips “cheap”? How much do they cost to produce? I have zero idea. And who knows, maybe in 50 years Icon becomes collectible like Paulson.

Last time I stayed there was probably 4 years ago. The room was nice, the only negative I had to say about the room was compared to most modern day hotels the ceilings were very low. Other than that it was nice. The pool area was decent and I loved their poker room.

Haven;t been here in a while. When I was at The GN in June, I asked about the chip in the OP. The GN dealer told me they had some shortages during the flu and needed chips 'in a hurry' and couldn't wait for GPI. He assured me that the trend would NOT continue as players and casino personnel all hated them. I haven't heard news since....
