I just started playing Endless Legend and it's got that "just one more turn" feel to it. Visuals are stunning and each playable race feels unique, as well as the minor factions you can assimilate (each providing their own special boost to your civilization and giving you access to training their special unit)
There are some RPG elements in that there are quests (faction and stand-alone) as well as Hero units that gain experience and have skill trees you develop over time. Your regular army troops gain experience and gain levels as well. On top of this you can discover special materials and create better weapons, armor and trinkets to enhance your troops and Heroes.
And while you can auto-resolve combat, you can also play out battles on a tactical map, complete with differing height elevations, troop types that may be better to tank and take damage while support or ranged behind them keep them in the fight or pepper enemy troops, flying and cavalry units that can get around the front lines to attack softer targets in the rear, etc.
Enjoying this a ton more than that watered-down Civ V game. There's a variety of paths to victory, which can include completing your faction quest line first, score, elimination, economic, diplomatic, wonder, scientific and supremacy.
Here's some screenshots, anyone else playing this?
