If You Had A Time Machine... (2 Viewers)

Really? you have a TIME MACHINE and all you want is to go back to a group buy from a year or two ago? To get chips that are still available, albeit at a price?

I'd also tell myself that that chick from the bar in 1999 totally wasn't playing around and that I needed to man up and go for it.

I'm not going back in time to see the Dunes being imploded, but rather to quickly start digging for those wonderful chipes.

1. Get boatloads of minty Mapes.

2. Order custom TRK's.

3. Order a bigger set of these. Didn't know they would turn out round.

Probably would go back when the original Crystal Park Casino closed and buy EVERY SINGLE high denom chip I could find!

I would like to go back to before the dust settled at what would be the future home of the Bellagio, dig furiously and get as many sacks of Dunes as I could find.

....beating up all the other time travelers with the same idea if I had to as well.

Same as a couple others here.. Year 1999 or so: Get one set of brand new custom TRK's and then never have to search eBay, or be a member of a poker chip site, cause "I'D BE DONE!" Ok, maybe i'd be on the forums. :p

I would go back to when the PNYs hit the market and buy as many 500s, 1000s, and 20s as I could buy.

I'd go back to July, 1946 in Atlantic City and play roulette in the illegal back room of the 500 Club. I'd then go watch Martin & Lewis perform for the first time and see if I could spot father as a young man in the crowd that night. I'd also leave a note for myself, dated to be opened in the 1990s, to buy out all of Josh's Key West chips from Apache at $0.89 each when he offers them on CT.

I would've had J5 design a TR King set. Oh, and some custom paulsons before GPI bought them.

I go back to April 13th, 2008 in Hernamdo, Mississippi to the construction site of their brand new Community Center. After dark, in the early morning hours I would get burlap bags and fill them with every last Playboy AC Bud Jones chip I could find.

And a BCC custom set as well from when they still had quality control...

This is about a time machine not a transdimensional portal. Not sure there was a point in our history that BCC's QC could have been considered good.

Hahahahaha... That's true... Although there were times they were at least a bit more consistent... The end was pretty sad, that's for sure... When they did right, they produced chips that rivaled any, imo...

Its amazing how looking through all of these 'if only'..'I would have' posts, that it seems very obvious and in plain sight but just think what its like now to jump on a certain set not knowing what it may do. For example I WISH i could go back and buy wayyyy more Terrible chips when they were on sale especially the $500s. I really love that set.

Just recently, I wish I jumped on the hungry frog set that was for sale. Few days ago I woke up to see about getting them and they were sold. Waited too long. I was going to sell my BCC GCR set to help fund half of the HF set. Snooze ya loze :(

That's funny, I was thinking the same thing when I read that. Although I was happy with the custom BCC set I ordered, I did order some extras of every denom to account for ones with funky inlays.

I'd travel back to 2005-6 and buy TRK. Maybe see if Jim B would be interested in helping run it/relocate to Portland.

The contract'd contain an anti-Red clause.

It'd also need some Back To The Future II style sports almanac betting to fund the project. :)
