I was the first in my area when Frontier added their 500/500 internet service. I have been paying $175/month for just this internet service, when I noticed a promo offer:

500/500 for $49.95/month
1 Gig for $74.99/month

I got online with their chat service who offered me the 1 Gig for $125/month which they said isn't a promotional rate but the market rate. So I bitched why am I paying $175/month for HALF the fucking speed?

They had me call in to their retention department and I mentioned how I've been getting way overcharged given their "market" rates and what could they do to keep me from switching to Spectrum? BAM! $60/month for the gig service upgrade.

Now I can stream more porn than ever!

I do this with satellite radio every year. They want like 50 a month to renew every year but when I threaten to leave I get the “promotion” for like 5.99 a month.

I had Sirius XM for awhile and did the same, but eventually preferred to put MP3's on my phone and connect it via USB to my car and play my own list instead.

Just couldn't find a channel that was 100% Gregorian Chants all the time

Similar experience with xfinity. Was paying $92.xx per month after my latest 12 month deal ran out ($64 for 200mbs). Called to get the price lowered, they offered 400mbs with new cable modem included for 24mo at $50. Getting 475mbs regularly now. No brainer. Moral of the story is always request a lower price if your introductory price runs out.
And change your insurance every 4-5 years.

Do you bundle car and home insurance? If so, easy to swap all of it? I haven’t switched insurance providers in 16 years.

Yeah, I moved from Geico (travellers for home, which owns geico ) and cut both home & auto in half. Time to swap from farmers since I had for 5 years now. Probably state farm. I also have an umbrella policy included in my "bundle", but added after move.
Your results may vary, but even Clark Howard says to switch every 3 to 5 years.

Preach it.

I bought a new car about a year ago, and part of the sales gauntlet was the insurance guy who gave me a quote from Allstate. I'd been with Geico for about 15 years, and Geico's total quote after adding the new car was about 40% higher than Allstate. Insta-switch.

Then just a couple months ago, my homeowner's insurance company decided to cancel my policy along with 13,000 of my closest friends, because I have the audacity to live in a state that gets a lot of rain and wind (and the occasional hurricane). I got a quote from Farmers that was about 55% of the rate I'd been paying, with comparable coverage and the only change being a deductible increase from $500 to $1000.

Then when they found out I had just gotten a new roof, they dropped it even further! I'm now paying about 45% what I paid for homeowner's insurance last year.

I sell shit to ISPs so when the housing association(?) I live in was gonna renegotiate the internet subscription (it's included in our shared cost), I asked them if I could handle it. Now each apartment gets 1 gig for $23.

I don't remember the exact time frame, it was shortly after highschool I believe, but I remember going and buying the Chant- The Benedictine Monks of Santa demingo de silos CD and thinking it would probably be my jam.

It was not my jam, but I did pay $20 for a CD of Gregorian chants and that's just something I have to accept and move on from. I'm still quite confused on what I was thinking that particular evening way back when.

I work from home, stream all my content. My girlfriend works from my house. We both are on zoom meetings all day, plus I’m doing remote login screen sharing and control of multiple computers. I get 200MB service (that I pay more for than you pay for gigabit). I have crappy options here. But my speed is fast enough.

That is my problem with SiriusXM. Why force everyone to jump through hoops. Just give everyone a decent fair price. That is why I dislike them.
