I drew a betting line on one of my tables. I used a white oil based sharpie paint pen and a piece of plywood that I cut and sanded to the right shape (and traced around it, while holding it on the table).

It turned out as well as I could have hoped.

Hopefully the line doesn’t fade away too quickly, but I’ll save the plywood template just in case.

48” x 13.5” (table is 96” x 44”)
I went pretty short with it because my wife will be dealing for us, so I figured I’d make it as easy as possible to reach and pull in the bets.

I had a game on Saturday. We played 8-9 handed on it for at least 7 hours. The betting line still looks the same as before we played.

I’m still pretty sure you could just rig up a marker to the end of a 10 inch stick, put the other end against the rail, and just push it all the way around the table, and end up with a perfect betting line.
I haven’t had the guts to try it yet, but I’m not sure why not, because you could easily practice with chalk.

@upNdown EXACTLY what I did.

I used chalk first. Then with a wet rag rubbed about 95% of it off.

Then lined everything back up, and went for it. SUPER EASY.

If you use my method, recommend doing both round edges FIRST! Then get a straight edge and connect. Measure like 20x

Literally took me 10 minutes. Turned our perfect

Drew one on my Barrington as well. Measured a distance away from the rail and used pins for reference, then MacGuyvered a compass with some string and a wrench for the arcs. Traced it all out with silver felt marker, ruler, and the compass for the final product, which I am quite pleased with!

Photos are before (a few years ago when I re-felted the table), during, and after a game I hosted just before Christmas.

That's something I've thought about ever since I got my table. What has stopped me, besides apathy, has been my concern about whether it would look cheap and possibly featured on the fugly tables thread. The examples here make it look plausible.
Is there any bleed through on the speed cloth? Does it take more than one pass to make it opaque?
After reading some of the suggestions on how to accomplish it, I would suggest a simple circle with a opening in the middle as a guide, like a spirograph. Lay the circle on the table, stick the pen in and roll it around the rail. Assuming the rail isn't lumpy. Now that I think about it, it may smudge the ink as the guide slides over it. Maybe lay something in the middle of the table to raise the guide off the surface? Something to think about.

What if you cut a piece of plywood to the shape and sanded it so they wouldn’t drag or catch anywhere?

The one thing I hated when I upgraded to the SSC, was how the pattern seemed to just be an eye soar.

Adding the betting line breaks it up and also helps with understanding with my players THIS is the line to enter Squid Games. It really does help IMO make the table look more “casino” like.

As far as the bleeding, I also had that same concern. I ended up having some left over material and tested there. ZERO bleed through and ZERO bleed over. The line is very distinct.

I absolutely love it! I had several neighbors that are my regulars come check it out and they love it as well.

Note I am using Sharpie Oil Based pens.

I absolutely love it. My wife deals for my games, so it makes the game better, in my opinion, than what other games seem to do in my area, which is have a dealer, and each player shuffles cards when they are on the button for the next hand and pass them to the dealer when the current hand ends. Both are the same in theory, but most players’ shuffling styles are terrible, for flashing cards, or barely shuffling, or both

I would definitely buy again, and I don’t like it for self dealt games. So I made an insert for it, so I can remove the shuffler and just have a flat surface there, for self dealt tournaments, etc.

Good job on the betting line. Although most don't prefer a table with a racetrack, I like it for that separation between chip location and playing surface.
The best option is to get a custom cloth with the betting line added to the design.
