To English teachers and knowledgeable people here:
What's the female equivalent of dude?

I guess Puritan extremists (Correctness Guards) would argue for "dude-person" for unisex use:rolleyes:

From Wikipedia:
"Karen is a given name. In English, it is a feminine name derived from the name Catherine.
In Armenia, however, it is a masculine name deriving from Middle Iranian."

I 've also heard it as "Karina":rolleyes: in Greece, which is the current Greek word for a ship's KEEL. Not sure if flattering or not, for girls.

Edit: Forgot to mention that anyway "Catherine" comes from the Greek adjective Catharee, meaning "the Clean one" (clean lady).
