Hoping everybody in the path of hurricane Harvey stays safe, warm, and dry.
My daughter is currently on cruise in the gulf and is expected to return to port same day as Harvey.
It's a waiting game.

Cruise ship Freedom is being diverted to New Orleans for resupplies then back out to sea. They are hoping Galveston port will have a window that they can off board passengers sometime over the next few days.
What they'll find in Galveston is anybody's guess at this point. I told her to throw on her life jacket and hit the black jack tables

Local news just reported that they checked on the cars parked down at the Galveston cruise terminal, and all is fine down there. No flood threat at this point.

Ironically while she was visiting us in Austin the days before the cruise began, her car needed servicing so she ended up taking my car back to Galveston. Thankfully she was able keep my car in her garage but it's only 2 blocks from the seawall. So far so good. Her ship is still out at sea hoping to port by Tuesday.

Ship ported in New Orleans again today. Not expected to be able to make Galveston until Saturday at the soonest or possibly diverted to Miami.

Passengers were given the choice to get off in NO or remain on the ship.

We flew her the hell outta there. She's home now sharing all her adventure stories.

Now it's a waiting game waiting on the Houston roads to clear so she can get back to Galveston and finish school.
