How much money have you spent on chips (playing sets, collections ect.) (1 Viewer)

I've spent between 1-2K not counting what I've sold. One day I will get a custom set though and then I'll see that figure jump ;)

Tommy, delete this thread at once... Lest my wife see what these things cost...

I have a folder that I keep receipts in for anything of this type so I could actually add it up fairly quickly. But putting the number seems obscene for some reason.

Bought and sold well over 25k - sets I have now about 1500 but worth well more than that.

Since 2006 well over 13K in USD plus 24% VAT and huge shipping costs to Finland. But I have also sold away w/ about 7K.
So currently maybe down to $6K, owning about 5 000 chips. Spring 2015 will bring me a $3000 CPC invoice and 1 100 chips.

I always love it when this question gets asked, and it is asked almost annually. So here is the scale for reference:

0-$300Too embarrassed to answer
$301-$1000A single playable set. Ceramics or China Clay
$1001-$2000A set or two. May have a casino chip collection
$2001-$5000Multiple sets, a great collection, or a 1000 piece custom clay set
$5001-$10,000Look through the Pr0n. The ones that cover an entire table spent in this range.
$10,000+Too embarrassed to answer

awesome.........

I probably have about 600 bucks worth of supplies. I currently only have my starburst cash set. I recently sold my china clays.

After I add the plaques and pick me up a ceramic tourney set I'll hit level 3 :)

Too embarrassed to answer.

So now everyone knows I've spent less than $300 [emoji1]

Every time I add up all my sets I feel like I should sell some as the number is just ridiculous. So I just don't add it all up.

$400 for two really nice 600 piece sets of chips. One cash and one tourney. I was fortunate that two members here both had personal sets that they offered on the classifieds. No newbie worries about how many should I buy or what denoms should I get.

I managed to get 1200 Casino grade ceramic chips for about .30 cents a chip. I'm happy.

I don't even want to know the answer to this question.....!!!!!

I have spent an amount equivalent to my average car price. I anticipate a much better resale value though. I am sure there are worse things I could spend money on.

Can't tell exactly. Something between too much and don't wanna know...
It's well invested.
