The question pretty much sums it up. I don't know actually but from what I see I am way below you guys.

I have about $500 in chips (semi-custom cash and tournament set)

Here is the total cost of my setup (semi custom chips, built my own poker table, chairs and a light to go over the table)
I recently built an oak chip case for 1550 chips I am hoping to be filling soon
chips & case
300
poker table
400
extra chips
33
light
25
chairs
50
cash chips and addon
200
Oak Case
100
1108

Custom ASMs: just north of $1800

Faux Clays: $400ish

WSOP China Clay GB: TBD

Table: $250 (excluding tools I needed to buy)

Chairs: $250 (a work buddy got a lead on some Gassers that are basically brand new and I am stoked to get them tomorrow!!!!!)

Cards: $50-$100ish

725 Milano's: $250

700 Royal Yaks: $325 to $375 if you include my bounty chips

Terrible St Jo's: $275 to $300 for about 400 chips... I just won 50 $1 dollar chips and 100 $25.00 dollar chips the other day. Was only going to be a heads up small cash game set but of course I'm getting carried away lol.

Table: $20. I got it as a temporary table while I build one. Currently is just a 48 inch octagon table with padded rail. The one I build will be a round 60 inch.

Cases: 75 (one birdcage and one aluminum case)

Cards: $15 (One set of Royal cards, some paulson Golden nugget cards, and a bunch of regular bicycle decks)

Chairs: 100 (a bunch of folding chairs and a secondary table for overflow)

Let's see here...

ABS Chips: $100 (received 1000 as a 40th birthday gift, and added on 400 chips)

Yak Chips : just shy of $500

Case for Yaks: $44

Cards : too much to mention. I really have to sell some. Just can't bring myself to post the ad.

Tables: $160 for a used octagon and matching oval (80 each). I also have a 3-fold topper that my wife gave me for Christmas two years ago.

Chairs: $90-ish (8 folding)

Ugh. I've spent more than I should have so far with no end in sight!

As a guesstimate, I'd say around $3500-4000 for all my sets which are:

Grand Victoria 700 chip cash set
TMSC 500 chip tournament set
Paulson solids 1200+ chip relabel project
Mixed Terrible's 560 chip tournament set
ASM MD-50 400 chip tournament set
Various heads-up racks
Plus random single racks, extras, and samples

Wow. And how long did it take to get them all? It's not something you can afford at once. At least I can't.

$1400.00 for my latest set of TRK Nevada Club cash set chips (620 chips)
I can't remember what I paid for the other eight sets. I was able to get most of them by buying and selling my way up to the ones I have now or else I couldn't afford them. I once turned a craigslist investment of $40 into over $1400.00 profit.

I have a standing order which feeds my paypal account on a monthly basis. I'm trying to stay within that budget. Trying...

I made an Excel sheet to know and it was not a good idea :D
Way too high obv...
More than $7500 actually

not enough, when I see great sets most of you have, compared to mine

Yup, it is depressing.

Since my last post, I've added on a few set ups of cards, a 550-chip Yak cash set (still need to get people out to a cash game...), and some 25k plaques for my tourney set. A china clay tourney set from the CT group buy has been ordered. And now I'm thinking about Paulson and/or CPC sets.

I already have everything I need. Well, maybe a small number of non-denom ceramics or custom Yaks to use as high denom chips for the cash set which I don't use...

Why do I want more? I think I'm developing this chip disease...at least I've been able to avoid the Terrible addiction so far.

And I still need to figure out which card setups I can't live without and post a WTS for the rest. <<sigh>>

Well, maybe once the group buy chips arrive, I'll sell the Yak tourney set and then have a group buy tourney set and Yak cash set. Sure I will...

Wow seeing my old post from September really makes me see how much of a chip addiction I have.

Here's my new updated list:

Royal Yak set: 1950 chips: Hard to know for sure, some I paid .39 and some I paid .69 for so probably about $1053 if we average it out.

Terrible's St Jo: 1200 chips: $1400-$1500 plus my Terrible's Shrine with probably another $200-$300 worth of Terrible's items.

CPS (Group Buy Chip): 1k chips $250 bucks)

Hard Rock Casino HU Set: $50 bucks

Custom made Octagon Table: $250

Chairs: $100

3 Acrylic Chip Racks: $140

Wow I have a problem lol...

This photo of JLP captured my reaction to the topic question perfectly. I was actually in that EXACT pose after reading the question.

All this question did was make me feel like I need to sell some chips.

Holy sh!tiiii

My wife would leave me and never look back if I spent that kind of money on chips. She knows my affinity for chips and really all things poker, but I think neither of us really see the point in "Collecting" I guess.
I have the sets I need and use every month, I have the cards I need and use every month and I have the table I need and use every month. Unless I get rid of some chips, I wont be adding any at this point.

That being said, I think I did very well with the sets I have. I think I'm right around 2600+ 3 sets and some misc. chips I need to get rid of, which are 1-2 sets that failed getting put together. I believe I spent about $700ish. Not bad considering all 3 sets I use regularly for monthly games are all closed casino chips.
