Hosting a tournament coming up. We want to play a cash game after so we don't want the tourney to last all night. How long would a 8-10 person T10,000 last with the following structure? Any predictions would be appreciated.

20 minute blinds

200-400
300-600
400-800
500-1000
700-1400
800-1600
1000-2000
1500-3000
2000-4000
3000-6000
4000-8000
5000-10000
7000-14000
8000-16000

The guideline is...(BG, correct me if I'm wrong)... is divide the total chips in play by the amount of big blinds you believe will be on the table when the tourney ends.

Eg. 100,000 chips in play. You think the tourney will likely end when there are 40bb in play. 100,000 / 40 = 2500.

When the big blind = 2500 (or around there) your tourney will be over, or in your case, around the 1000/2000 mark. 2h40m without breaks.

If 10 players at T10k (or 8 players plus two rebuys), there's T100k in play.

The game is unlikely to last long once the BB is as high as 5% of the chips in play. With 100k in play, that's 5k.
If the stacks are even at 50k/50k, that means the small stack has only 10BB left.

When the blinds hit 2000-4000, if it's not over yet, it will be, soon.

It can always end sooner... but you can bet that your tourney will end very soon if they get up to 3000-6000.
