Sorry to ask such a personal question but seeing a live action photo from another table got me wondering, do you stack your chips low to high/left to right or the other way round? I get reasons for both ways. European based language folks read left to right so going low to high that way makes sense. Most people are right handed so having the lower denom chips at the ready right to left makes some sense. Obviously big value cheques need to be up front.

Left to right, what kind of heathen do you think I am?

I used to stack them like this

Then I change to this which I find it used up lesser space and don’t obstruct me when I am dealing

Maybe I misunderstand but I think I am the opposite. I am righty so I stack high denoms on the left to low denoms on the right since I use those more and will flick in with my right hand usually. I also do stacks of 10 and not 20 usually even when in a casino out of habit. Since I deal in my home game I like lower stacks to not hit into them when dealing. When I get enough chips I will put my high denoms on top. I also weed out the GO chips and use them first to be more uniform ... would you expect anything less from someone on this site?

From left to right; low to high denomination; highest denomination on top. Try not to have too many rows so to make it easier to reach and peak at my cards in front of the stack.

All the above?

I like the straight line approach when playing PLO bc it’s easier to read/protect your cards…

When you have won several hands in a row, I enjoy the “wet sand castle” unorganized piles…

And for a slow nitty game, a nice pyramid

Not too often left to right…usually when I have less chips…

I’m left handed so I always have blind and workhorse chips available on the left and rear for shuffling and betting. Bigger betting chips (like $25s and $100s) go on top and in front of whatever complete barrels there are. Any remaining chips usually go either on top or in the back. I usually organize barrels of chips in some sort of shape (triangle, square, pyramid, octagon) depending on how many chips I have, always keeping some “working chips” closest to my left hand to grab for early street gameplay.

I stack them in a square off to my left. With the smaller denominations of each row on the right side closer to me.

Wow, I’ve never even considered whether small chips go on the left or the right. I just keep them 20 high with big chips visible.
I guess this night little chips were on the left, but I’m sure it’s not always that way.
I think sometimes my $5s are in the middle, flanked by quarters on one side and $1s on the other.

I find myself doing a mixture of different ways to stack. Last time we played I stacked them in a row which I enjoyed. It kept the chips in order and it was easier to choose denominations. I do stacks of 20, if there is less I just stick the extras on top and then same goes for the other denoms. Generally lower denoms in the back, larger in the front.

I'm right-handed but I bet with my left hand (I'm the Rafael Nadal of poker).

So my piles are arranged from left to right, from smallest to largest denomination. But it is true that I am a little embarrassed at the time of distribution.

I always put biggest chip closest to center of table. Sometimes it’s left to right, sometimes right to left. If I’m in seat 5, I dunno what I do, I don’t think about it too hard

Stacks of 10, 20 when possible. Biggest denom visible. After that, it's pure chaos...

Low denoms left and right of larger denoms.

You have a better chance of finding a pattern in a Jackson Pollok painting.
