I recently acquired @bentax1978 's mixed house mold starter set and am planning on turning it into the go to deepstack/high limit set for our bigger home games, $1/1, $1/2, and eventually $2/5. Obviously the $1s and $5s are sorted out 200x $1, 600x $5, and I'm thinking of skipping a $20/$25 chip to go straight to $100. This will help reduce the amount of expensive chips to harvest (Either Aria $3s or Caesar's $2s), and most casinos I've played in don't let $25s play in most $1/2 or $2/5 games, they rely on $5s then $100s as workhorses.

That said, I think I've got a winner in the Circus Circus $1 for a relabel, assuming I can harvest a full rack or two (the Mirage $3s were sweet, but I don't think I could get a full rack plus, and if I do it'll cost well over $300 probably. The Aria $20 is my perfect $1k chip, I think I'll want a barrel in case of a super deep night, but $20/chip is a little steep. To be fair, they're live chips, easy to harvest as they play in the $40/80 game, and will never lose value, but still.

Conversely, the Circus Circus snapper would make a nice $1k, but I'll need to find a substitute $100 chip that isn't obscenely expensive.

Help? Thoughts?

I have a barrel of oversize Dunes $20s if you change your mind about going directly to hundos.

I like your project in theory, but I think if you cover up those Circus Circus inlays, you are committing a crime. Like an aggravated assault with malice aforethought.

Ahh... that explains something -- I've seen a few episodes of Live at the Bike poker (typ. 1/2 or 2/5, I think?), and I don't think I ever saw any $25s in play, players had many stacks of $5s and then some $100 chips. I like this idea for this set -- it increases the Total Bank to Harvesting Cost ratio. (TB/HC ratio -- can I coin this phrase, think it'll catch on?)

I vote Aria $3 as $25s, MGM $3 hundos
I'll second this. Costs aside, I just really dig the Aria $3 chip as a $25. If I owned this set, that's the chip I'd try to harvest a few barrels or a rack of (I'd justify it to myself that it's a cheaper per chip cost than many TRK chips). But skipping the $25, and going the straight to $100 route, I like the MGM $3, although if that's just a drop chip, it may be hard to harvest or obtain in quantity.

FYP.

I also like the Circus Circus $1s as 100s and Aria $20s as $500 or $1000.

Planet Hollywood $1's maybe? Obtainable in great condition.
The quarter-pie Planet Hollywood $1s might make a nice Cali-colored white hundo, or how about sneaking in an east coast Foxwoods $1 as a hundo?

Other $100 / $500 / $1000 candidates? Yeah, a little outside the box, but Luxor 2.50 might pair well with PH $1.

really like that Trop dollar. Looking forward to what you do Kyle, know I'll be able to enjoy the chips sometime ;)

really like that Trop dollar.
Me too. I have a few of these chips in my collection, and took a couple pics below.. The almond (?) color of the Trop dollar would make a nice alternative color $100, IMO. Like a white Cali hundo with a twist.

I'm not sure. I have a few Paulson color sample chips, but not almond or daisy. The Trop $1 is definitely a light, pastel, yellow color that's not bright. Looking at just the photos on Paulson Color Reference on PCF the color is much closer to Almond than Daisy, but photos can be off.

nice, is it almond, or daisy ?
To clear up a past question, I recently acquired a Paulson color sample set, so I now know for sure - the Trop $1 color is definitely Almond. Daisy is closer to Yellow, which is close to Canary Yellow.

(Yes, these will have Circus circus $100 labels)
I like how this set turned out. Cali $100 whites! Just like that*, you've added $9500 to the bank. (*after application of Gear labels)
