Hello!!

My dad has a collection of vintage chips and I've been sent on a mission to try and find out the history of them or who they belonged to. I have 6 different chips, all with 2-3 initials inlaid on them. We believe we know the region they're from (West Texas). Can anyone help point me in the right direction on how to find out more information?

In the "Casino Search" you can sometimes search by the initials on the chip. It's not a guaranteed way to go about it, but may be helpful.

The Chip Guide is a good resource. Also, a couple additional options:

Post on the Chipboard. There are many "illegal" card room collectors on that site and someone may recognize your chip(s).

Also, you can also look through this site. It has some of the Hot Stamp records of certain distributors (Jones, Hunt, Taylor, etc).

Identify the chip by the mold and then look at the above site. For example, the Diamond Mold was Distributed by Jack Todd, then Christy & Jones, then Paulson. Those chips are older, so my guess is Jack Todd. The other chips you have are on the Hub mold, which was distributed by Mason and possibly.Taylor). Sorry, I looked and i didn't see any of your chips hot stamps on any of the cards.

Here is a good reference for which company distributed certain molds.

Good luck!
