For those who run home Tourneys and have 30+ people, what starting stacks and #of each chip denomination do you start with?

I am looking at getting new chips and will be hosting a larger event or two each season. Interested to hear what others are doing.

My current is 30-40 players. 25k starting 10-2-8-3, $100-$500-$1k-$5k. Runs about 7-8 hours

I don't think 2x T500 is adequate, and would prefer a srarting stack breakdown of 10/4/7/3 (with T1000 used for color-ups) minimum, or preferably 10/4/12/2 (with T5000 used for color-ups) for a multi-table T100-base set. Gonna need some T25k chips to color-up the T1000s, too.

Large denomination chips should never exceed 1/2 the value of the starting stack, imo.

Most of my multi-table event sets are T25-base with 8/8/4/7/x or 8/8/4/12/x starting stacks (depending on stack size and the number of starting T5000s), with T1000 used to color-up T25s and T5000 used to simultaneously color-up T100/T500s (T5000 only used for all color-ups with the latter config).

I have gone back and forth with the 2 vs 4 T500 set like you listed. Recently went to a T100 base vs a T25 base as it skips one color up sequence .

I may try the 10/4/12/2 set up next weekend. I hadnt had enough 1ks chips until now. Added to my old Chipco WSOPs replicas.

Thanks!

We changed to T100 base this season. We are now doing 10/2/8/1 as well for our events. We start w 15k. But for our 25k starting events we’ll do 10/2/8/3. No one has ever said we needed more 500s. We’ve been running w 2 500s forever.

T100 base is very nice due to no color ups until deep into the tournament.

WCB starting stack. T12,000 Set supports 40 comfortably with colorups. My recollection is the set is less than a barrel of $5,000 short to totally color up to $5000 chips. I really would like to add a few more $5000 and some higher denomination chips (maybe $25,000) to round out the set. The $25000 idea is difficult because of the inlay matching on my set. I’d have to design a new chip.

Denim count in the set in parentheses.

12 $25. (500)
12 $100 (600)
7 $500. (500)
2 $1000 (300)
1 $5000 (100)

One of my fav sets ever, and a nice dayglo peacock 25k add-on would be spectacular. In for a sample chip. ttttubby do the original designs?

Hmm. That could work. Pretty bright color, wouldnt get lost in stacks with the others, inlay would look okay when you matched the inlay color to the chip and put white print on the DG peacock. Need to play with spots. Tubby did the design...getting in touch is still possible. Hmm...Sorry to thread jack, but great idea, Dave.
