Just saw this. I'm interested but unfortunately not available on the 11th. Live in Roseville but there are not many PCFers in the greater Sacramento area. Eventually I'm looking to start a Meet Group sometime after April.

I'll let you know whenever I get another game scheduled. I'm definitely interested in a meet group! Thanks for responding.

Hi. Can you tell me what the blind schedule would be for .25/.50? Do I just adjust the schedule for the regular 25/50 blinds or are they different? Any help is appreciated!

The .25/.50 is a cash game, so the blinds stay like that the whole game. If you wanted to do a tournament then the blinds would increase over time during the night.

This website is pretty useful for figuring out a blind schedule for tournaments.

Ah. I wasn't sure about that. In a cash game like that, I wasn't aware that the blinds wouldn't go up. I would rather do a tourney where they do go up. However, in a cash game I'm looking to get a smaller set of chips (with denoms like .25, $1,$5,$25) and I figured that you would still increase blinds even in a cash game. Good to know I was wrong. see? newbee here! :) Seems boring to stay at .25/.50 the whole night. When would you have an opportunity to chip-up or anything during the night then? Just curious. Thanks!

Yeah I see what you mean. There are ways that cash games can mix it up, such as adding straddles, bomb pots, side games, and mixing in a hand of a different poker game now and then: like Omaha or 7 card stud. If the players all agreed during the night, you could raise the blinds.

No, you have an opportunity to “chip-up” during the night by winning hands.
Cash games almost always have fixed blinds, and the game (or the table) is named for the blinds - in casinos you have $1/2, $2/5, $5/10. People pick a game, based on the blinds, to suit their budget.

Oh, i see. No worries. Shows you how green I am. So if I'm buying a small set for a cash game, then you really want to buy a lot of lower chips, like .25 and $1, right? Maybe some $5, but that's about it. Especially if you are playing .25/.50 or 1/2 all night? And if you have 4 to 6 players or maybe up to 10, then I probably don't need more than 500 or 600 chips?
