OK, I'm mystified: what is the value of a "High Hand" button? You still have to track what the high hand actually is, usually by writing it down, so of what use is the button, really?

Has there ever been a high hand button that incorporated some means of indicating what the high hand is?

I've never run a high hand, but if I did, a small 1x1.5" pad of post-its would probably be my high hand button. ;)

But to answer your question, I've never seen one that actually marks the high hand value itself.

What are the two extra As for?

As soon as I posted it and looked at it on the screen, I was 99% sure an ass joke was coming. :ROFLMAO:

I used aces full of fives because I won the high hand on Friday with that hand. Of course I didn't actually have aces full of fives, I bought it from the guy who did hit it. He offered to sell it to me for $125 with 15 minutes to go in an 8-handed NLHE game. Expected payout was $160-175 (it turned out to be $170). Easiest $45 I made all night.

I LIKE THE BUTTON..... Some of the player like to have something on the table, its also compliments my custom set coming..

Preference, its all about preference...

Yeah we keep the high hand (and the player who made it) written on a dry erase board in the poker room, so the button itself wouldn't be necessary.

However, people in my game like to taunt and joke, so I can see the button as being good to waive in the face of others once you've beaten their high hand. And would be a great opportunity to ball bust when you make the previous guy give you the button.

Any excuse to tease your fellow players is a good thing imo :)

Very much this. The needle/ball busting opportunities alone would be worth it. Also probably a good idea to have someone [relatively] sober keeping track of high hands throughout the night....

High hand variation... what if you set a qualifying hand and every time someone makes that hand or better they get a button. High hand money divided between players with buttons after set time. Or after all buttons awarded. Just a random idea and way to incorporate MORE buttons.

I guess if I were to use a high hand button, I'd want one with a white space on it, where you could write that hand with a dry erase marker.
But personally, I don't want another button clogging the space in front of me. In my regular game, we don't even use a dealer button because we self-deal. Safe to say the guy with the deck in front of hm is the dealer.
But of course I understand why people like to use cool matching buttons - just not my thing.

One could make the same argument against bounty buttons. Just keep a tally by player on a white board rather than have the winner collect the loser's button. You can definitely play a bounty game with high hand jackpot and not have buttons for either. Likewise in a game without a dedicated dealer you can do away with a dealer button. But it's just not as cool from the MOAR CHIPS standpoint.

I made my buttons up because I already had a heavy shipment of plaques coming from South Korea and I've never had samples of their jetons. Total cost was about 40 bucks more and I got something usable unlike what a formal sample would have been.

You forgot the ALL-IN buttons. :whistling:
