My name is Dan,
My first poker chip introduction was in college and I saved my money working at restaurants to buy a 500 piece Paulson 2005 James Bond poker chip set for $510.... After babying them for a few months I decided I should prob sell them because they weren’t being used (I was too scared I’d hurt them) and I was young and also worried they might get lost or stolen. I ended up buying sample packs of many different chips and my buddies and I decided to split the cost of a 1000 chip set for our home games (that I later ended up winning the rights to the whole set in a poker game). The chips were these (pictured below) (I used a pic from this forum because I have the same kind. I still have these in fact they’re great).
I played a lot of online and casino poker during the poker boom and then stopped for several years because of having kids.
I’ve always regretted selling my Paulsons and miss how they looked and felt. Since covid I’m getting back into poker and chips. So am I right that Paulson doesn’t make chips any more? Or is that just for consumers? And do they all have lead in them or just some? Anyways I’m a hobby guy and I’m fascinated with poker chips. I’ve watched most of the @Hobbyphilic videos and they’re great! Thank you for those. I’m looking forward to digging into this forum further. Next I want to possibly get Custom labels for my chip set pictured. That being said, I’d love to see hobbyphilic do a new label video with @Gear labels
Thanks everyone,
-Dan
Oh also, I just ordered 950 more of those chips pictured last night from netpokerchips.com. And get this, they had a coupon code thing at checkout and I just plugged in random stuff and wouldn’t you know it, I ended up saving 25% off my entire order...
