Hi all,

I'm very new to poker and am just getting started. The rumor in the family is that my Grandfather made custom shirts for Billy Binion and used to play with those really old school guys. French cuff shirts with cufflinks and cigars and boots (he was from east Texas).

So now, way later in my life (I'm about to be 60!), I've decided I should learn about this game. I've just started studying. Looking for ideas as to how best to learn.

Meantime, I love all the things that go with poker - the chips are my current fascination. Dealer buttons, tables, speed cloth.. Really anything might catch my interest.

I watched Adam Savages one day build of his poker table and that has me thinking I should do something similar. And I loved his Teddy KGB chip carrier.

I'm on the lookout for anything Rounders related as a result of liking the movie so much. Got my 20 yr old daughter to watch with me and now she wants to learn to play too.

Anyway - good to see you guys. Feel free to point me in the direction of good beginner training and any rounders related chips / buttons etc.

Thanks!

CPC sell stock Rounder Chip at the website link above
Thanks for the CPC link - I keep losing that. I'm still trying to learn about chips. I see names of machines used (I think) as well as clay or ceramic. On these - is it a safe guess to say these are a clay composite as opposed to ceramic? Not that I care that much as far as using them for playing and showing them off, just wondering.

I have SO many playing card decks when I got hot on that. I need to watch out for getting hot on a topic and going too far :) . There are casino chips I'd like to have a few of just from my own brief history of gambling. I played blackjack in the beginning - Stayed at the Golden Nugget and played a lot of hands at the horseshoe across the street. The Mirage was still being built back then. And I played at the hard rock, and stayed / played at Venetian.

As I bet some of you have found - this seems like a rabbit hole of interesting things to check out and acquire :)

Greetings and welcome to PCF, @postmanpete!

There's quite a few of us on here in the greater KC metro, including @Grandmasturkey, @tdccarpenter, @Chester Copperpot, @sugarcane, @Pawn38, @MIZ and @chipinla.

You'll find a lot of folks throughout PCF willing to help and answer questions. Enjoy your stay!
Hey! That's great so many of you are from the area!

I've got a lot to learn. So much content to root through on the forum. I really need to get solid and conservative hold em just to help bankroll the random interests I have. Great to see so many of your here.

I was browsing some websites yesterday and came across this website with some "Rounders" (...) listed on them: https://www.pokerproductos.com/epages/61976209.mobile/es_ES/?ObjectID=6567334&ViewAction=FacetedSearchProducts&SearchString=rounders

Using the search function on this forum I actually couldn't find any results on this site, "pokerproductos" ... thought's?
I'd say that site is questionable based on it's WHOIS info. The registry says it's from Spain. The abuse Email is from Germany and the domain contact info has a domain (xlink.net) that expires on feb 18 this year.

It may be that this will autorenew based on the Updated date.

And we can see those aren't CPC chips they're listing.

I think I'd be real careful if you wanted to work with those guys.

Thanks for the pointer though! I have been able to purchase some rounders chips from one of our fellow PCF members so I'm all set for now.
