Hi, Happy New Year! I'd like to know if the hourglass mold has been used to create cheap plastic chips or only for ASM clay chips.
Thanks for read.

Can’t say as to whether there are plastics, but I do remember hearing that they were the lightest ASM CPC chips by mold type.

Not sure but for the price very cheap I bought them.

I can't say that I've ever seen hourglass plastics, but with China being what it is, it is certainly possible. Look for the injection nipple. If you find it, you have a plastic chip.

Or post pics of the full faces if your not sure what you're looking for.

The seller is from an American air base in Madrid.
That led me to believe they were ASM, but the box alone is worth more than what I paid, so it's not a problem.
Thank you very much for the comments.

Hi, I picked up the chip set today. I was surprised; I've never been a big fan of ASM. I have a lot of CPC sample sets, but I never thought about getting a custom set. I already had plenty of Paulsons and Chipco chips.

Well, I like this set. It's old school. The chips are textured with visible brass flakes on the edges. The box is heavy wood, it has quality cards, and a dealer button that I think is ceramic or clay (not plastic). It cost me less than a rack of used chips.

It was definitely ASM. They made chip sets for PokerStars, and VIP players could exchange points for them once they reached a certain level in the loyalty program.
However, they were HHR.
Ordinary players could only exchange points for regular, cheap plastic sets.

But it looks like this set was made as a gift for a specific event. Perhaps for a Caribbean adventure.

From my experience the cards are terrible stiff but the last time I handled these were 20 years ago.

Beautiful chips. I also had the chance to pick up Pokerstars Chips too and relabeled them. It was a fantastic project. I can only recommand to use textured Labels from @Gear.

What would you say the value of this set will be? Have the option to buy the exact set you have. But don't know If I can pull the trigger. Because I would like to change the 1's (dont like the colour) and don't know if it is easy to get A-mold chips in other colourways. Have been looking around on PCF but no succes dusfar.
