Help with addiction: how does one "quit" chipping? (1 Viewer)

I personally don't think I can quit. While not impossible, I just have loved poker since I was 24. I'm 41 today. I am completely enamored with chips. Singles. Samples.

I have a thirst for casino history. I'm hooked on PCF. I've recently rehabbed myself off eBay, but I'm a fiend waiting to relapse.

I've tried quitting the buying. Had a successful "ban" campaign, but it didn't last..

Presently, I've gone 3 weeks without a chip related purchase. But I just missed trying to buy an Oak Tree sample set a couple hours ago. So I'm a total degenerate, I need therapy. But what therapy is there...???? Only self control...which obviously, I have none of.

I suppose the only thing to get me out would be a serious stint of joblessness.

If you use your chips and not only collect them, just enjoy what you have. And stick with what you really need. Ex : one cash set and one tourney set.

I had basically gotten out of the hobby 4 years ago, didn't visit the chip forums much after CT died even though I made an account here. I had gotten married in the summer and when winter hit I logged on to sell some chips that were not getting used. Sold almost everything and thought I was in the clear, well I wasn't.

There have been a lot of chips that have come and gone since then, sometimes I wish I could just stop, but I just can't seem to. I've only got a few chips I want now to finish up two projects, maybe then I'll be good. Yeah right, the cash set could use an upgrade...or maybe even a whole new cash set. This hobby sucks lol!

The only way to stop chipping is to find a new hobby or pastime to spend your money on .............. might I suggest crack?
