Hey all, so far the search for a tournament set has gone pretty well, and I already have purchases in for almost everything. All that is left is to pick out a T1k chip. This is the current set as of now:

T100: Kash Casino $100 chips

T500: Horseshoe Cincinnati $1 chips

Here's a CPC mockup of what the colors and edge spots look like together...

Ideally, I'm thinking something yellow, gold, orange... I'm looking for paulsons, THC/RHC mold type, no more than about $1.50 per chip max and no solids.. I will need 200 of them...

Thanks in advance!

Gonna be tough to find 200 yellows or oranges, even RHC, especially anywhere near that price. Those colors are in high demand and typically high-dollar items.

Might consider a grey T1000, or moving the white chips to the T1000 slot and replacing the T500 with a lighter purple/lavender.

I've considered grey, and there are a lot of great looking ones, i'm just concerned with the grey edges on the 500 and the grey stripe across the 5k plaque if it's a little too much grey for the set... I think I just need to keep looking at all the interesting color choices that pass by the classifieds and pounce if I find anything...

I'll second this. I've owned and sold a few barrels of yellow RHCs, and there's slim to no chance of me being able to buy them back. They are in high demand.

Pounce is probably the right word.

You could consider going with a non-standard color scheme or use different/higher tournament denoms. The Kash $100 with it's complex spots might make a good higher denom, like a T1000, to switch the HS Cincy $1 as a T100 or T500.

sigh... I guess it's only 2 racks... not like I'm moving up in price range for an entire set... the ysabel $2 really is kinda perfect to complete the set... I guess it's worth it to overpay a couple hundred when it's literally the final piece of the tournament puzzle...

OK... I'm weak with bankroll management.... and @AWenger is still awesome... tournament set completed... hopefully next month everything will be finalized for some sick pics...

so, after listening to some of your input/suggestions, I thought about what I already had and what I wanted to do and realized a few things...

1) having brand new shiny Ysabel $2s in the same set as 20-year-old beat-up RHC roulettes didn't seem right, nor would they play right stacked next to each other.

2) I spent a TON of money on those plaques, and unless I hosted a massive multi-table rebuy tourney, the 25ks wouldn't see much use with starting blinds at 25-50

For that reason, I decided not to have T25s in the set, and go straight to 100-500-1k-5k-25k for the set. I think this will give the set a more premium feel, as well as cut some costs with having one less chip denom and 500 fewer labels to print, and no need to have the RHCs milled...

Btw, your $100 chip pic in the OP isn't showing.

It should work now... Also, another shout out to @AWenger for posting this awesome pic of the three chips next to each other for comparison purposes...

Personally... I've kinda fallen in love with this look and when it gets paired with the 5k and 25k plaques it will really be something special...

That really is a clean look, with very distinguishable colors yet not overwhelmingly too much color so as to be distracting. Also love that you wanted yellow or orange $1000s, and ended up with both colors.

When do the plaques arrive?

I was going to ask what you plan to use for T25s (I had some suggestions, too), but this decision makes sense -- it'll allow you to use those upper denom plaques, too. Some casinos & tournaments are moving away from the T25 denom and starting with the T100 as the smallest chip.

According to MSK they are just starting my production now... so within the next 2-3 weeks I should have them.

Get some jacks watermelons for your $25s. Some available right now I believe
I was actually going to then decided against it.... they're beautiful chips, but the truth is with a T25 base setup those T25k plaques wouldn't see much use... which is shameful considering how stunningly beautiful they are....

Just remember that even without T25 chips, the probability of T25K chip/plaque usage will be highly dependent on the starting stack size and number of players. Simply starting an event with 100/200 blinds vs 25/50 won't necessarily mean more T25K plaques will be needed. Feel free to PM for a detailed explanation or suggestions/advice.
