Recently I have decided to create a $20 chip as a semi-replacement to my beautiful $25s. Currently, all the Windy City chips correlate to something in Chicago, mostly sports teams. However, I have run out of sports teams that I like (and that have unique colors) and I would like my next chip to be West Point themed (I'm a graduate). westpoint.edu for some source thoughts on colors, but basically we are looking at grey, black, and gold. Red/maroonish is also a color, as seniors at West Point wear a red/maroonish sash with their dress uniforms.

Here is what I have mocked up so far. Let me know what you all think.

I'd also like to design a $2 chip, so if there are any thoughts for a sick $2 chip that would go with the set please post within!

Original set, some on the matching table I built:

Nice, looking at that uniform the color that stand out most to me are Charcoal, yellow(gold) and white. Cant post a mock up right now but I was thinking Charcoal base with Yellow and White 4d14 spots.

If you wanted some red use 3t316 spot with red/white/yellow spots.

For the $2 is there a College football team at all? It's one direction you could look into.

Northwestern? Blurple chip base with 3ds316 bright white spots?

There is, but meh on college football. I'd rather take these non-core chips and slap a creative license on them.

Not crazy about using a gray or a charcoal $20 with a black $100. Too close, IMO. Could you do something with a canary base and maroon, gray, and charcoal spots?

Chicago's flag is white with blue and red, but you've already got those colors covered. A purple and white $2 would be cool, but there are lots of other possibilities. What other Chicago institutions are meaningful to you?

yeah agreed with this. i'd also be careful to make sure the $2 is easily distinguishable from the $1 in case you're playing limit games with both $1s and $2s in play ($1s for antes obv).

this is one of my favorite sets, though, so i can't see where this goes.

Bright white base with imperial blue/red on a 4D14?

Or, we could go a half pie, charcoal/bright white with something like yellow 414 spots on top. That way you've got a grey top (full dress jacket) white bottom (dress slacks) with the gold buttons. But as I say this I sort of think it is silly, to be honest, and I sort of really like the idea of a Chicago flag chip.

Other institutions... I would need to ponder that one because nothing comes to mind.

To be honest, my hundos have never made the table because my five racks of fives are well more than enough. I think that with the yellow spots on the charcoal chip there'd be enough contrast, imo.

Top row it's the #3 chip, bottom row it's the #2. My preference is bottom row, despite the risk of blending with your hundos. You want to match the colours to the Point, after all.

Still think that Blackhawks chip is one of the best I have seen. Thanks for the extra pics.

I'd recommend a gold/yellow base color for your $20 chip, I believe that's common in a lot of casinos and would make sense with the colors of other chips that would play with it.

what do you think about these for the $2 and $20 respectively:

Thats a sick 20. I still may try to avoid the Black on the 20 chip however. Just because you never get the 100s on the table now, doesn't mean you won't need them at some point. Have you considered a Chocolate or Light chocolate Base? could be a great 2 or 20

yeah i tend to agree, but Breich said above he's not worried, so i just soldiered on assuming it was fine. i would prefer my above $20 to have a charcoal rather than grey base, but that was far too close to the hundo imo even with Breich's comfort level.

agreed re: light choc, though. could be a nice combo (i meant for the red spot on the 1/4 pie to be maroon, but i don't know what folks are using for maroon in the chip factory. no color looks right imo):

Hmmmm. I'm liking revision two a little better for the $20. When i think of my days slogging away at the academy, that second chip is much, much more reminiscent. I'm not sold on the $2, though.

Edit--I lied, I sort of like both $2s, tending slightly towards the first revision. Not a big fan of a chocolate base.

i prefer the first, but neither is a huge win imo. i pretty much just threw them in because i wanted to put up a $20 :)

Ok, so I'm thinking that the charcoal/dayglow yellow/red chip could work as a $2 chip (if I make one). I'm absolutely sold on a bright white/red/blue, but I'm not sure which reds/blues. I really, really want a chip that's 4D14, but the 8 spot is cool too. Thoughts?

And... The new chip with inlay.

Using the top two as J5 suggested a slightly darker blue font for print issues..

breich that chipe looks phenomenal. can't wait to see the mock up for the deuce!

Wow I love the new 20! That final design by J5 is incredible!

If you are going to have complete sample sets available I'd love to buy a set!

This set has personally been one of my favorite custom sets ever. It is the only custom set I would be willing to buy if you were ever in need of letting it go. I'm afraid the West Point themed chip would spoil the whole concept though. I've lived in Chi-town, but never attended West Point. I'm glad you went with the flag for the $20.

For the $2, have you considered Gold Black and Red - the colors of the CFD?

Chips shipped! They'll be at Payback's today, and in Texas hopefully by wednesday or thursday.

Would love to do the t-shirt- Being local, love the look. Thanks.

Revamping the thread for a $2 chip. It came to mind that modelling my $2 chip after 312 is the absolute nuts in terms of $2 chip coloring.

I have samples of every yellow other than Dayglow Saturn. So far, none of the other yellows really match the amberish-yellow of 312, other than Dayglow Yellow (but it's too light). I'm thinking Dayglow Saturn will work as the base, sample of it is on the way.

Here's what 312 looks like when poured:

So we've got a bright yellow and a more amber yellow. Here's the mockups so far:

BTW, here's the $20 =)

I'm just not a fan of a 3 spot because a couple other chips already have a 3 spot of some sorts.
