I have another rack of $5 chips on their way to me and my game does not need two racks of $1 chips. I typically only put one rack in play. The Flamingo picture may seem more appealing because of the two racks but please vote solely on the merit of which set you like better visually. If you are a person who needs two rack+ of ones just think of the set with multiple racks of Strats or Flamingos when making a decision. Whether you judge by spot progression, contrast between denominations, inlay design etc. etc. is up to you! Feel free to ignore the $100 chip in the Strat iteration, that was just a stand in. The easy answer is keep both and interchange them, but that is not what I'm asking lol.

My thoughts....

Progression wise, for me the Flamingo's are a clear winner. It also leads to many great options with some kind of a bear claw $100 chip. I'm currently looking for some including but not limited to Highway 9 $100s, BTP T100 which I will relabel, and a few others.

I think the Strat chips have a better shade of blue which contrasts well against the other chips. The light blue on the Flamingo chips looks pretty, but each denom is already a light shade which I feel in stacks will possibly take away from each other a little. Chipper problems... :ROFLMAO:

Overall, I think I can't go wrong either way, but I thought this would be a fun way to gain some input from varying opinions. I learned some very cool stuff in the past when I posted about and formed my mixed leaded THC cash set which went through a few changes over time.

Both 1s look great. If I could have my cake and eat it too, I'd love the spots of the Strats on the Flamingos. I like the Flamingo color better. I don't think you could go wrong either way but if I had to choose I'd go with the Strats because they're spotted.

Very fair. It's a large part of the reason why I like the strats. I enjoy spotted chips and two sets of solids takes a little away, for me at least.

Both are really cool but yeah, I also prefer the Strat.

Interesting. I was expecting to see a lot of support for Flamingo's.

The pale blue works better with the paler hues of the other chips in the set. Very springtime/Easter feeling

The only thing the strats have going for them is the spot. Flamingo base color and inlay design go waaay better with the rest of the set.

I agree on the inlay for sure, but I actually like the base color on the strats because it's a richer blue and bounces off the yellow and pink very well, which will be the primary chips on the table. I'm enjoying the different takes though.

I would go with the strats. Beautiful color, pleasing inlay and spots that works well with your progression. I have a handful of the strats, and it's an underrated/underused chip IMO.

Add to that that every other set here on PCF seem to use the flamingos, which would make them the somewhat boring and uninspired choice. (although they are obviously nice as well, don't get me wrong).

Now, I know many think I am biased on this but here are my reasons I think the flamingos work better.

I do not like the progression from a 2V to a 218 spot
The subdued color of the flamingo goes very well with the subdued colors of the $5 and $25 chips.

I like your point that the Flamingos are heavily used in sets. I did not consider that.

The $5 spot is the trickiest aspect of the set. I wish it was a 4 spot chip and my life would be much easier haha. My least favorite part of the strats is the 2v spot as you mentioned. I do like the chip better though. As for color it seems it's pretty 50/50 where some people like all the lighter shades and others want that richer blue as a contrast to the lighter shades.

Flamingo appears to work better in the overall color palette of the set and has the superior inlay in the lineup. However, I much prefer blue gain in general and having some spot progression from the solid frac to the one. I feel the darker contrast of the Strat would have more impact if it was book-ending the set instead of the being the second lowest denomination, so that doesn't come into play much for me here.

I don't blame you for being torn on the decision so I'll just give a typical PCF response and say maybe rotate both in and out to see if you end up preferring one over the other live. You do already have one of the best solid sets ever so maybe the Strat would just be a nice change of pace in that regard as well.

Great write up. I'll probably end up keeping a rack of each and trying both out. That was sort of my plan to keep at least one rack of both and just see over time which I prefer. Was curious what PCF thought. I love that the poll is almost 50/50 because it's pretty much where I stood myself  :ROFLMAO:

Great choice! Keep them both!

My current Nevada mixed set has around 20 different Nevada Casino $1's and at least 15 different fracs for me to swap in and out. Like I said before it is like playing with a new set every time we play.

But keep at least two racks of each!

Thats pretty cool! The $1 chip usually ends up being all with one player as the $5 is the workhorse in our games, so I typically just keep a single rack of 1s in my sets, as it works. But nothing wrong with having MOAR chips just in case haha.
