Hi!

I have finally decided to order my very first poker set that isn't the cheapest like these ones; https://pokershop.de/Poker-Chip-Set-Ultimate-300-MIX-IT

But don't want to break the bank so I'm going to just one step up and have narrowed my selection to these ones:

1 - https://pokershop.de/Poker-Chip-Set-The-Mint-300-MIX-IT

2 - https://pokershop.de/Poker-Chip-Set-The-Nuts-300-MIX-IT

3 - https://pokershop.de/Poker-Chip-Set-Showdown-300-MIX-IT

4 - https://pokershop.de/Poker-Chip-Set-Bluff-Canyon-300-MIX-IT

They all seem to be a kind of "clay composite", and I would say visually I like them equally.

Do any of you tried these chips? Can you recommend any of them given this price limit?

No more than 140€ for 300 chips looks acceptable.

BTW I plan to add to the pack a custom mat from x-raypad (incredible prices), and a couple of Bicycle Prestige decks (they never failed me, just lost ink I suppose because not using them always on a mat) or maybe I'll try some Desjgns.

Thanks!

I've only ever handled the bluff canyon chips before. Plastic with a metal slug. I think the rest are the same.

They have a bit more texture than dice chips but still have a tendency to topple everywhere if the table isn't steady and gets bumped.

I'd try to find some ceramics at your price range. Look in the classified section.

I know I'm a cheap bastard haha but really will enjoy almost any chip just want to play, with future views on getting some custom chips.

I have been looking a lot but I think I can't find anything like this price.

Got quoted 205€ per 400 cards molds on alibaba... Thinking about it but I don't know it looks like their material is better but the designs they showed me are awful. Probably I could get 300 cards mold at a closer target price, let's see if I can make them show me more stock designs.

I'm in Spain, EU classifieds are hard to find and they sell more expensive than I'm looking for, and uglier for me xD

you can put any design you want on the cards mold, and they are immeasurably better chips (IMO) than any you linked. you can use any of these "off the shelf" designs for free or a small fee if you contact the designer: https://www.pokerchipforum.com/thre...ramics-master-consolidated-info-thread.65544/

Not sure if there are any members putting together an EU-based cards mold group buy. But if you have the opp to join do it.

I have 2 sets of custom cards mold chips and they are in a totally different league than the chips you posted. Much better. Plus, total custom design.

There are many free to use designs available on this forum. Check out the group buy section.

The Showdown chips are dark on the upper “tournament” end of the denominations. Not vibrant very muted colors.

The Bluff Canyon are bright across all the denominations, I would say about 25% of the 2000 I had at one time had extra flashing issues, not just around the edge but the small stripes had extra to be trimmed in them.

both are durable and suit the need of a casual or heavy game well. Not the most popular, but a definite upgrade over nondenominated dice chips

I have samples of these. Made by Claysmith. Not sure if its cheaper to order direct.

They are heavy and feel more like plastic than other so called clay composites. The colours are very vibrant though.

If you are after a closer feel and sounds to "true" clays I would consider the milanos or apaches offerings.

Early on I got samples of the show down chips. Wasn’t a big fan. The colors were a bit drab and yes they are plastic with a metal slug inside of them. I think the others are basically the same chips but I like the look of the bluff canyons the best.

i’m intrigued by this card mold chips, I wish I could get my hands on a few of them and see what they’re all about.

I agree w Davislane. Check out the Apache.

Apache seems to be missing one denom of my needed denoms at every design I like on their shop.

Mmmmm I'll let you know when Alibaba commercial tells me about more possible stocked designs.

Thank you all!

Hola, Gatelucky!

The Mint and Bluff Canyons are pretty much the same kind of chip from the same maker (I own a Gold Rush set so if you're asking which one I'd choose, heheheh) so between them its a matter of aesthetics.

The Nuts look like a variation of the China-made Casino Royale "replicas", I have both the China no-names and the ones sold by Carta Mundi. The Carta Mundis are slightly better, you may notice some dull colors and rough textures from the cheaper ones.

What I don't own is a Poker Knights set and I would actually guess it would be the nicest one among the 4, but maybe that's just because I don't own it. I would say that the aesthetics of the Poker Knights look best for me.

EDIT-

I noticed that the site you were looking at had both the Majestics and Milanos. I can almost guarantee you will like those better than the ones you are currently selecting from. I sincerely think its worth the money.

Good luck!
