Greetings from McKinney Texas.
Quick backstory...
I played poker on Easter with my in-laws using the radial interlocking plastic 2g poker chips. Safe to say I was hooked on the game, but not on the chips. I wanted to start playing more and I knew the one thing that would make playing the game more fun for me to was to change up the chips. One search on YouTube for “poker chips” and two videos later (the Adam Savage “rounders” chip one and a review by @Hobbyphilic of the DDLM chips) and I was HOOKED! My in-laws radial chips and my striped dice chips from Wal-Mart were no longer adequate. About 30-40 samples and one set of 1000 “casino royale” chips from @Apache later and I’m already making plans for the future.
As you can see, my first real set isn’t up to snuff to what most would consider “good chips”, but they are better than what I had, I’ve already ordered a “majestic” set as well, and have plans for custom ceramics soon.
I have had a ton of fun looking through this forum and researching different chips, preferences that members have as far as blind structures and starting stacks, and discovering how I can best setup and run a home game/tournament.
I look forward to more posts and I’m excited for what the future holds... even though I know it will be expensive.
P.S. Yes, I have looked at the Card Wars chips (I’m obi-wan after all) through BR PRO, I really like those chips... I’m thinking about going with a ceramic chip I can customize the wording on though... do y’all have any suggestions/preferences as far as ABC/BR PRO are concerned?
