Hey folks, been lurking for a while so thought I'd join. Been playing for a long time and finally managed to get a regular home game set up over the past few years. Have been through the standard plastic sets but the posts on here are making me want to go more up market! Not many options for really nice chips in the UK so will be keeping an eye on the classifieds

Do you do regular games from here? Where abouts in UK?
Hey there. I'm down in Dorset but not played live poker for 1.5+ years now :confused There's a growing number of PCF members in the London/ M4 corridor, and a few northerners, so it would be great to organise a meet up game next year.

Welcome! The Wasp's Nest will be opening for business once we get through the inevitable lockdowns over the winter! I'm about 2 hours from Swindon but @jr8719 can pick you up on the way  :ROFLMAO: Are you more interested in cash or tourney sets?

Predominantly play micro cash 5p/10p in our home game with the odd tourney when the guys wanna mix it up. Building a bankroll to start playing live £1/£1 at either KC in Swindon or grosvenor reading

Shotgun!
I'm kinda on the way too, right?
Didn't k ow you guys called "shotgun" over there... sorry couldn't pick just one!

And for the record... Seattle, UK, I would happily ride shot gun with this man if given the opportunity!

Alright enough thread derailment! Lol

Welcome to the forum @Crazycasper13 , for the record just as much fun can occur with those awesome slugged chips as any $20 chip on this forum! They do the exact same thing!! You can win or loose they same amount of money. Hell I have the exact same chips as your bottom right there, they were my first chips as well!

Are clay chips better? Of course! But still they all do the same damn thing. I mean how many boxes of 1990 Topps baseball cards do we all have in the closet? Lol

I have collected many different things over the years, saddly didn't find chipping until way later in life. Never found a hobby that could keep my attention or feed the beast! Happily I think I have found my forever home. Doesn't matter how many chips you own, even at the meet up in New Mexico last weekend I still get all giddy every time a new set I haven't played hits the felt!

Definitely from all of those chip sets in the OP it looks like you have the chipping bug as well! Enjoy your chipping journey and if I can ever be of assistance in anyway feel free to reach out!

Fellow Chipper Ben

Hi @Ben8257 the bug has certainly got me. I've sold the cheaper sets and moved onto the monte carlos which are nice to play with. Liking the look of nevada jacks but getting any in the UK is pretty impossible. I'm the same with cards too. Every time I've made a profit recently I've bought a new deck looking forward to testing out the karnival heads tomorrow

Interesting, your Monte Carlos are the same chips as our Casino Royale 08's

Obviously the far right Pink/Blacks are the new series that Apache sells on their website.

Our Monte Carlos are the standard run of the mill version

We use the ugly Carp Target as a watch dog! Lol

Still own lots of old cheap chips that work great for family poker night, even though usually we still break out the good stuff!

Finally found some Nevada Jacks but the supplier only has limited quantities at the moment so can hopefully start piecing a set together
