Checking in from Florida's Space Coast (Brevard co.)! I recently built my own poker table and am trying to spin up a regularly occuring game with friends and coworkers. In my search for a new set of chips (currently have an older set of dice chips) I stumbled on this site and went down the chipping rabbit hole and am hooked!

My honest advise: Leave now. Block this site like it is porn. Trust me I am doing you a huge favor. Because you have no idea what non-dice chips are going to cost you. And you don't realize yet that one set will never be enough (in fact, enough is never enough). Then there are cards....and new Gasser chairs......and a hot dog roller.....and, well, I am only scratching the surface. There will be LOTS of other stuff.......custom felts by T. Chan, custom chip cases by Alecnet, to name just a couple, but the list goes on & on. And it is all made possible by what you will see and read on this site. You will never be the same.

If you choose to ignore this fair warning, then WELCOME! We are glad you are here! Now get busy and don't deprive us of those table pics!

:)

This isn't bad advice

Welcome to the forum. Tourney or Cash? Actually, you should buy one of each. Then you'll need a paulson set, a TRK set, ceramics, and plastics. Then you'll realize you need a custom themed set, custom table, and custom accessories.

Basically, take @Omar65 advice and run :)

I've been lurking here for a couple weeks and can totally understand what you're saying! I did learn to get samples (probably bought 15-20 samples so far) and glad I didn't jump at the first set I was originally eyeing. Purchased a starter cash set (Tikis) and am considering a separate tourney set if I can get enough folks from my group to commit to tournaments.

@detroitdad , I'm a Michigander born and raised (Go Green!) But displaced down here in FL.
Thanks for the fair warnings and welcomes!

tournaments.

I'm selling my tourney set. Parks and Rec if your interested. We only play high variance, crazy gambling games lol.

Where from in MI? I'm in Ypsilanti. We have a great gambling group.

Thanks, I'll keep that in mind! My group here in FL is mostly newbies and we typically play DC micro stakes games but I'm working on warming them up to higher stakes and hopefully tournaments.
I'm originally from just north of Flint but played a LOT of poker over the years with friends and family "up north" at our cabin

Hello and welcome!
Great users on this site, ready to help with any questions you may have...

How are you liking the set of Tikis?

Yeah this site and the people are amazing! I browse it almost every day.
I'm still waiting on my Tikis, should be shipping soon. I'm excited to try them out.

Welcome!! Hello from your neighbor to the south. (Dade county).
Too easy to go down the rabbit hole here….good luck getting the home game started! I’m looking to do the same.
