I am thrilled to find this forum. I never knew there were so many varieties of chips and ways to express creativity through chip collecting. What I've seen so far has completely blown my mind.
I got started in a weird way. I am an anxious fidgeter who is always looking for things to do with my hands while I'm at work. One night I was watching poker on TV and took special notice of chip shuffling and chip tricks. I thought I'd give it a shot so I bought some cheap chips. After a couple days, I realized the chips I bought were not very fun so I upgraded. You all know what's next. A few samples and a very slippery slope later I bought a stack of Paulsons to play with. I loved the feel and the sound so much that I got addicted. I have a couple stacks I play with every day at work and If you walk by my office you'll hear shuffling all day long. People at my office think I'm nuts. They are not wrong. I would love suggestions regarding what you all think the most fun chip to shuffle for hours on end is.
As for playing actual poker, I don't get to play much because none of my friends play and I need a little more disposable income before I head to the casinos. Notwithstanding, I have always loved the idea of buying a set but could never justify it (kinda unnecessary when there's no one to play with). I thought I knew what chips I liked, but now after spending a few hours on here, there is a whole new world of possibility. And that's terrifying. I'm a little sad I didn't find this place sooner but it's probably for the best as I'm sure I'd have way too many fun things to play with by now.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to learning from you all and seeing your incredible finds and collections.

there is no best chip to shuffle, but probably good to have different mold and different chips to play around with! Hope you find what you like and eventually manage to start your game to justify buying full sets
