I was a member of chip talk for net for a while when I was creating my own set of compression molded clay chips on what was commonly calf the "ASM" molds. These were sold a couple of times over the last 15 years and are now owned by ClassicPokerChips.com. you can see mock ups of some of my original ASM/CPC chips attached. I am now interested in possibly creating second custom set as well as acquiring a cash set of former casino cheques. I will try to find my way in the forums. I am wondering if Jim from "The Chip Room" is in these parts to help with this last request. Here are some other people/companies/chips I would like to track down
Sidepot for their snifter and cigar mold chips. The original Paulson James Bond chips. Any leads on current consumer friendly compression molded chips. As you can tell I am really focused on the compression mold clay chips (like Paulson).

I look forward to getting to know you all and seeing your chips!

David

Thanks Eric! I remember the name protege now! As for CDI, I also have some "Pyramid" club chips that apparently came from a doomed cruise ship that have the exact same color patterns. I wonder if those ever appear or are wanted.

I have a friend who wants 300 red chips and 200 green, seems easy to find red Paulson chips harder to find green for sale.

Since you were kind and I am out of practice maybe you could help me with a couple of things. Many pictures of chips I have seen in the classifieds only show them in stacks/barrels or boxes and no pics of the faces at all. Is this forbidden for some reason.

Another post talks about GO chips. The context makes me think they are secondaries or some alternate but since the chips are only shown in barrel ls (again!) It's hard to say.

Hello and welcome back!

Jim and The Chip Room is alive and well and continually feeding us addicts / enthusiasts with his acquisitions.

Be prepared for sticker shock on those original 1998 Casino de Isthmus chips. The Pyramids and other lines using the same colours and spot patterns are / were all pure fantasy chips for the home market, sadly no longer available.

GO chips are not secondary, they are primaries with an alternate design.

You also have the Inplays on the cigar & snifter mold. The PCF fanclub for those aren’t quite as big and dedicated although they sure are pretty chips. I had a start of a set that I gave up since finding the big denoms were difficult (My cashgames use SEK which is 1/10th of a dollar) @Lil Tuna has got a pretty impressive set that I’m sure he won’t mind posting some pics of ;) .

The pyramids are fantasy chips afaik. Could very well be mistaken though.

Not forbidden to post faces at all. It’s just that most know what certain chip faces look like and are more concerned with the condition. That’s most easily determined by looking at the edges.

GO stands for ”grand opening”. A commemorative chip produced to celebrate the opening of a casino. Typically less attractive and less sought after around here. Often they look the same as the regular chips when looking at edges only but will have an oversized inlay with a different face.

Thanks this was great information! My current interest is in USABLE sets of chips . In particular red and green for my friend

Where do you think I should look for compression molded clay chips (like or exactly Paulson) that do not have an oversize overlay. I could get different casinos but want 200 $25 green and 300 $5 red.

In 2nd pic have about 30 green $25 and 25 black $100 unused Casino Aztar chips THC (pics) to go with the mint 75 red, 75 green , 6 black Pyramid THC (same colors as CDI/JB '98).

I would either like to find more or let these go to a good home. I welcome leads for either before going to the marketplace.

In 3rd pic I also have 250 well used red THC from the Ambassador Plaza and 200 brown $1 Moderate good condition Outpost Casino (California) THC. These I will just fire sale and take a big loss as an expensive lesson in my first set of Paulson THC chips. I think I know how to do that here

Lastly take a look at the photo of the consumer compression chips in first pic. In between the set of 36 ASM/CPC samples and the Sidepot samples there is a yellow chip that I can't remember where it came from. I wonder if there are more of those in green and red still around somewhere ..

Welcome. Some nice chips there! If you bought all of those chips 15 years ago, make sure you research pricing before you sell. Generally speaking chips have increased quite a bit in value.

Thanks. The ones I really love are my own custom chips. I am more into playing poker than collecting though I see the fun of both. I would be fine to giving someone a good deal but maybe an auction is the way to go to get fair value. Is there enough of a market that I could put all the Paulson THC chips on eBay? Anywhere else?

I think the thing that will be hard is finding a useable cash set for my friend at a what I think is reasonable price. Is there a website like The Chip Room used to be that has many sets available? Or does Jim (or others) just sell small batches here?

The classifieds here is probably your best bet.

Again, the classifieds

If you haven’t been around lately and bought those chips during these last few years, I bet you will not take a loss. Quite the opposite. Although prices have gone down since they peaked somewhere late 2021, early 2022

Jim has sales from time to time

https://www.pokerchipforum.com/forums/the-chip-room.21/

Only stores that carry any kind of clay chips are apachepokerchips.com and spinettisgaming.com/

@allforcharity I thought you might find this interesting (found at http://www.ccgtcc.com/xfantasy/pyramid.htm)

Btw I am eager to hear about ideas for what these are worth or of known transactions.

Btw, I am eager to hear from anyone about what these chips might be worth. Never used. $5 ea?

So, some of these chips were bought from the Paulson store and then used on board a couple of gambling boats as actual cash chips? What price security? They deserved to be sunk.
