Found some of the old HU Poker Championship videos on YouTube, and got me wondering what kind of chips they used. They have a plastic sound when shuffling.

Anyone know?

If you're talking about the NBC Heads Up Tournaments, I remember those chips. At least from the year(s) the tournament was held at Caesars Palace, (I don't recall if they had it at another venue/casino or not). They used spotted Paulson hotstamps. And I think I found the exact chips on the Chipguide -- listed under NCV (no cash value):

I remember seeing these color spots and chips:

There are also higher value chips on the Chipguide, but I don't recall if they used these in the Heads Up matches or not. (they may not have even used these values for the starting chip stacks, maybe at the final 2, if they had larger denomination starting stacks)

These are the ones I remember. And if anybody ever gets their hands on some, please contact me first. I'll sell my car.

Some screengrabs from the 2013 first round (Episode 1) match are below:
- Looks like they used the 'moar chips is better' approach, too -- starting stacks of over 7 barrels
- I think that makes sense for TV formats, as to some extent, viewers can more easily see who has more chips when there is a difference in 3-4 barrels of chips -- if one guy has more chips, he's at least won some pots.
- at the 5:36 min. mark they even have a close up and detail of the starting stack. 25,000 in chips.
- There is one barrel of T25s in the starting stacks too (light green with red spots) -- really just used for the small blind starting at 150/300, but may also be for show, just to add more chips to the starting stacks.
