Since the WSOP will no longer be at the Rio, they must be replacing the old chips, right? I thought that was a given, but since it starts soon and I haven't seen anything about new chips yet, maybe they are not replacing them?

I wouldn't get your hopes up too much in some aspects. Remember they reused the Bud Jones set between 2004 and 2005 when they changed venues. I imagine new says for sure, but they might reuse stuff still.

Hopefully clays, they do have that WSOP house mold that was only use for that whisker set so far

And they sucked. Way too slippery for my taste.

Surprised we haven't seen anything yet if they are replacing them (I have to think they would, marketing opportunity).

We will know tomorrow when the pics from the Casino Employee and 100k start rolling in.
It’s the most wonderful time of the year!
Time to re-sign with pokergo!
Someday. Someday when I’m too old to keep up with the guys who are too old to keep up with the wizards, I’ll make the trip. Because if I’ve learned anything from poker, it’s that anything can happen.

Don’t they sometimes go old school with these chips tho? I thought I saw some of the old Binion’s set in these events in recent years, might’ve been mistaken..

Wouldn’t the new chips have come out on the NGC website or list that they publish? I thought the ones that replaced the boat-lookalikes were previewed on there a couple weeks in advance (and that was a rush replacement given the situation).

They have been using the 2004-2005 BJ S2s forever. I expect them to still be around honestly.

The NGC does not release those figures anymore from what I can see. I believe they quit last year. They kept the old data but have not added to it since November of 2021

Multiple sets of course.
