Has anyone used this method? (1 Viewer)

Somewhere here I've read that submerging inlaid CPCs can sometimes get some fluid under the inlay coating, resulting in color aberration around the edges of the inlay.

I have not used that method and I disagree with it, generally. Why? Well, oil and water don't mix, so I don't understand the point of the water. Also, too much water or oil could damage inlays via seepage.

Yes, ASM/CPC chips can benefit from mineral oil--there are tons of threads on this--just do a search.

The key is to use the oil sparingly. A couple drops of oil on a rag, wiped on the rolling edge of a barrel of chips, is literally all you need. Do not over-oil. A couple drops on a rag goes a LONG way. And by not wiping the faces of the chips, you don't have to deal with over-oiling them or damaging the inlays. The oil absorbed on the edges will seep into the chips just fine. If the desired result is not achieved with one treatment, do it again at a later date.
