Frak, I love that orange combo in the OP. And the whole set q-pie idea. In for a sample set.

I think lavender and retro red might be better.

pretty close to where I ended up.

Looks good.

No hundos. Maybe an add on later. You digging that black inlay?

200 - $1
800 - $5
300 - $20
-------------
1400 chips = 1 sarge drawer

CC quarter is mandarin red.

don't call the clock on me please, I'm in the tank...

Maybe something like this? Consult your sample set since imo the colors can get funky close. I like near-family colors in quarter pies but then the trick imo is to not have the spots at same level of contrast across denoms which can lead to confusing them in low light. You need a frac? I included a $500 for the craps games you'll predictably spread.

Also, I think these would be cool on black inlays with a gold foil sort of harlequin image, or color matching inlays are sweet too, or even hot stamps. Yes, hotstamped fracs. May as well go big lol.

I am surprised you are getting a $ 20.00 Denom.. are those popular in your games ? we roll with 1, 5 25 and 100 .. either way they look great !

OK, just to confuse things, shown here with frac and Sarge drawer breakdown lol.

100 - frac
200 - $1
800 - $5
200 - $20
80 - $100
20 - $500

Must disagree with my esteemed colleagues - 1 sarge drawer = 1200 chips plus extras (matching DBs etc.) - I f'ing hate the 4 x 25 boxes.

What this means is a big set = 2400 chips (2 sarge drawers, or bottom drawer.) [emoji12]

Not really, I just like to use them for a cash game. More chips in play that way. Also justifies a third rack of chips :) 6K will cover most, 7.5K will likely never be used.

While courage is a master of mock ups, I think jbutlers are the nuts.

lol, I like your thinking but like 1400 per drawer more. I just put the upper denom and spares into those 2 x 25 row boxes.

I'm loving the colorful quarter-pie collections - really goes well with the harlequin theme - but the black/gray chip just does not fit.

Jester colors were all about the bright - black was pretty much used only to make the colors pop (esp in a black and red situation).

My gut reaction is that this should be a four-chip set, one for each of the four cones on the motley cap... if you want a big denom to add-on later, I'd base it on the gold bells. Then the whole set is based on the classic "cap & bells." But that's me... I'm really into those sorts of tie-ins.

i kind of dig the all-1/4-pie set idea. i've seen comments from others saying chips are difficult to distinguish, but always from tourney sets where people will have similar amounts of different chips in play at once. in cash sets where you typically have a ton of one denom and a few of a couple other denoms, i think those concerns are significantly alleviated.

how about something like:

this is perfect. Just do this. Maybe substitute tiger in for the orange.

I thought the same thing. We are of a similar mind here. I wanted to keep with the casino colors and I needed contrast.

Look at these and let me know if you still agree.

FWIW I really, really love Harley's original $1 chip (Charcoal/Lt Blue/Grey). I like monochromatic 1/4 pies, but the light blue is close enough to the charcoal to give that effect while also still adding a little something to the chip. Great look.

The trick is to not be so close in value that you can't see the difference like Ben said.

That's why I changed the $5

It looks good, but the colors on the $20 totally make me think "ladies in waiting," not "jester."

If two quarters are strongly tinted blue, I can like one quarter black or one quarter grey or one quarter white... but I think I want 3/4 hued.

But that's me.

The Suicide Queens do make for a beautiful splashed pot, though!
