The all new $1, $2.50 and $5 chip from the Hard Rock AC. Opening day today. Place is spectacular

Is there a poker room and how is it? Sports book?

No poker room. No sports book. For now.

Ocean down the Boardwalk has both. Made 2 sports bets on baseball games. Official sports book isn't quite done yet but they are taking bets

Was at Hard Rock yesterday as well. Didn’t make it over to Ocean. The chips at Hard Rock look really good. The snapper is definitely a great looking chip and the $25s are really nice.
Picked up a few ones while I was there.

How did you get so many out if I may ask? I was only able to get 2 barrels of singles out by going to the wheel
It took me quite awhile. 3 of those racks are my friends and 3 are mine. We made two separate visits, visited many different tables and made many trips to the parking garage to unload our pockets.
I asked for singles to tip with numerous times. The dealers would usually only give me 10 at a time. I was able to get most of mine on a craps table. Played on one table for about an hour and probably pocketed a rack off it. Kept asking the dealer for 10 singles and after about 3 or 4 rolls I’d casually put the singles in my pocket. When my pockets were full, I’d walk away.
Wasn’t an easy task and took us both about 7 hours to accomplish. One the blackjack dealers actually told the pit boss that he thought I was a collector but I was never approached by anyone. I couldn’t believe how stingy they were about the singles, very difficult to accumulate so many without a poker room.
I believe my friend is going to sell a couple racks of his but I’m not sure at this time. The racks I got were for me and a couple other chippers. Had this trip planned for a while.

When I finished up at a roulette table and asked the dealer to exchange a $5 chip for two snappers and then another for 5 singles she asked me "do you want them as collectibles" and I said yea sort of and she obliged. But she seemed almost confused as to why I asked.

I managed to sneak my two barrels out at the wheel. Bought in with $40 cash and asked for singles then played the wheel with 3 singles I had leftover from blackjack earlier in the night. Once those 3 chips were lost I pocketed one barrel then a buddy of mine and I were going to walk away and the dealer goes "oh wait I have to color you up." He stayed behind to color up his few chips and I walked away. Luckily having a room at Resorts I was able to get to the escalator quickly and across the walkway to get to the room. Luckily I was able to see the $100 chips by leaving the blackjack table with a few of them (a very good night at that table).

Ocean was easy. Asked for $40 in singles at the poker cage. Girl gave me 2 barrels in a rack. I walked away and pocketed the chips then returned the rack to the cage. No questions asked.

Follow up on this...spoke with someone while playing poker at Ocean on Friday who said he knows someone who was hired by Hard Rock to eventually deal poker, but was hired now just to get started by dealing other games. Evidently they will have a poker room at some point. Not sure where though as most of the casino floor is completely taken up

I’m not sure as to where they would put a poker room either. The old Taj room is where they put some kind of theatre now. Back in the day, as soon as you came down the escalator from parking garage entrance or through the front door, the poker room was right there. I’m certain that once they have a card room the chips will be much easier to get out.

That’s pretty much the same reaction I got every time as well. Looks of confusion as to why I wanted singles or the 4 snappers I got. One dealer asked if I was going to sell the chips on eBay and I just gave him a confused look and said “no man”. Another dealer asked if I was giving them away as souvenirs and I said yes. Lol.
I went with the intention of getting a rack for myself and a rack each for 2 of my other chippers. My friend went to get a couple racks to sell.
I also brought home enough to have 4 sample sets and sent one set to another chipper as a belated birthday gift. They don’t know it yet but should by Monday. :)
