First of all, I want to wish each and everyone of you a Happy, Safe and Prosperous New Year! It has been another great year with all of you out there and I look forward to 2017. The meet up schedule for 2017 looks pretty full and I will be attending several and then co-hosting the All In at the Alamo. If you have not attended a meet up you need to plan tho make one this year. You will meet many great chippers who are also great people that you will be proud to call friends and family.
So New Year's has always been kind of bittersweet for me and my family having lost and older brother who was the first traffic fatality many years ago when I was 14. We do celebrate but always do it at home with all of the family present.
So how are we celebrating? We are having immediate family over and having snacks for dinner. It is something we have always done for many years. We always have my famous Southern Style Black-Eyed Peas, Both Meatballs and Little Smokies in a Chili Sauce/Grape Jelly sauce, Chips and Queso and we will also have some Tamales this year. I may have to get a veggie in there somewhere! At midnight we always toast with champagne and each eat a spoonful of Black Eyed peas to kick-start the Good Luck. Karma and Rungood for the year
Anyway I would love to hear what traditions or "We always do this" stories on how you celebrate the New Year!
HAPPY NEW YEAR to each of my friends. Please be safe and drink responsibly!!!
