I've been a member for about half a year but I've never posted one of these, so it's about time. I'm originally from Canada, and I started playing poker after moving to Germany in 2010. When I went to buy my first chips back then I knew that dice chips weren't the way to go, and I eventually settled on a nice set of Dunes china clays purchased from Jim at the Chip Room. Back then I looked long and hard at the Paulson Private Cardroom chips, but couldn't justify spending ca. $1/chip.
So.. fast forward six years and I'm just starting to think it's time to pick up that PCR set when I find out that Paulson has long since stopped producing home chips, further investigations led me to this site, and there you go - I discovered the world of chipping. My first PCR chips I picked up here were from @Don Clay - thanks buddy.
What makes chipping great is not (just) the chips, but the people, and in my short time around here I've enjoyed learning a lot and trading chips with a bunch of PCF members. It's just too easy to spend an hour reading new or old threads on custom chip designs, folks searching for specific chips, building sets, etc. Even better the group support for charitable causes, and the generally friendly sense of the chipping community.
Anyhow, enough of my blabbering, thanks to everyone I've met here and it's been a lot of fun so far (my wallet may not agree). Cheers.
