Green $1 & Red $5 or Red $1 & Green $5? (1 Viewer)

YOU HAVE A PROBLEM WITH PURPLE FIVES, YOU HAVE A PROBLEM WITH ME AND I SUGGEST YOU LET THAT MARINATE!!

Blue-ish (purple) is a $1 or an edge spot color.

... hehehe, but those are pretty cool Josh.

About 5 years ago I joined a long standing poker group that used dice chips. They also used blue as $1, green as $5 and red as $25.

It took me a long time to get used to it.

I eventually couldn't handle the dice chips anymore and milled some of those casino used El Dorados to make a non-dice cash set for the game (El Donkey Club). I kept the green $5's for continuity. I did however add a pink $20 (milled $2 Lucky Derbys)

I underestimated the effect of changing $25 to $20.

Every time one of the old farts bitches about the pink $20 (and they still do sometimes) a get a little song in my heart.

I need some type of reasoning with a color/edge spot progression. It has to be this imo. 1 yellow spot, two yellow spots, three yellow spots. Lock this shit up!
It also looks like 3 different Paulson yellow shades are represented -- if I'm not mistaken there is: Canary Yellow (Isle), Yellow (Argosy), and Daisy (Derby Gran)! I'm not sure I've ever seen that in a lineup before.

They look pretty nice to me :)

I may yet be persuaded to go green $1 and red $5... Perhaps if I find a black chip with 4 yellow spots...

I was originally gonna use these as quarters but the deal on the Derby Grans was too good to pass up.

I agree with the red $5 and green $25....just used to it I guess....either way they will come out fantastic!

So back to this project. I got my hands on a rack of HSI 100s a little while ago to round out the set. So it'll look like this:

The inlays are a placeholder but they'll be black and similar (I may move the green pepper to the green chip and put a white one on the frac). I'm not loving the brown chip - your thoughts?

I agree; I'm not loving the brown chip. But is it the edge spots? I think it is. I think the base color works. I'd say start by ditching the green spot for another color. If that doesn't work, then ditch the yellow.

I like the yellow and the yellow spot 1, 2, 3, 4 progression so this is something I'd like to keep. I think it's the brown - it's a little washed out and looks like old cheap chocolate. Perhaps oil? But I'm thinking that a richer brown or a black/purple/dark blue chip would fit better...

Oh, I wasn't suggesting removing any of the others; just changing the colors on the brown. I don't think the yellow/green spots on the brown work. With that said, if you want to change the brown up, how about Imperial Blue or Dayglo Peacock?

IMHO: green quarter, white dollar (get some more), red $5 and HSI $20.
Rest assured that the dark HSI will grow on you.

Yep, I know. I was just pointing out that 4 yellow spots is a must for the $20 chip. That may be hard to find!

Oy, forgot the original context was a relabel. OK, so I see your point. 4 yellow spots is a must ... You know, honestly, I have to agree with @Coyote; the HSI $100 S grows on you in person.

Just stopped by to say I love green $1 chips! I don't have an issue with the line up other than it looks like 3 of the yellows look to be different colors. Everything else would work fine... I am just not sure about 3 shades of yellow personally, but then again I am partiallly color blind... carry on! Lol
